Dear Bangladeshi mates:

Got my AOR on 14 Aug; Now I want to change my Handwritten passport with,MRP as the old one will expire in December 2014; I am planning to apply for MRP next week; I wl sumbit old PP, BID copy with one set of application as mentioned onthe site (online application)...please suggest that passport office will issue me passport without SB Police verification? or the Agargaon PP office will put me in hassle???? pls share your experinces......
Also how to notify SGVO after,geeting my new MRP? email,or mail? Any form to be filled up? plese help

i dont think so as u already got AOR, however, for MRP they dont do police verification again at least i got that experience and after getting ur MRP u have to send ur new passport photocopy to ur local visa office
regarding from filing i have no idea, wait for expert comments

The forum being unstructured doesn't help much, with people sharing news, congratulating, asking and answering questions all in the same stream it is sometimes easy to get lost.

At the same time the advantage is that everybody is in one place and able to communicate in a single place.

What do you guys think? Will you be interested in something like this?

Please advise me on this case:

I have applied for Canada Immigration and I have received my PER 3 weeks ago and may case is under processing...

I am single and I am planning to get married soon, so which of the following options is better:

1. Getting Married while my application under processing and update my sat us with the VO ....
2. Wait until getting the PR Card, then getting married and apply for spouse sponsorship....

What do you recommend and how the marriage will delay my case processing for option 1.

Hey guys,

I'm really new on here. I recently applied for the FSW14 and my app was received on the 7th of August, but DHL didn't specify a receiver. I noticed on the SS most people had their documents received by a certain "Mike". I applied from Nigeria, if that makes an difference. And I forgot to write my name at the back of my passport photos. Though I used a paper clip to fix the photos to my other documents. Do you think my application will be returned on this basis alone?

I'm kinda freaking out at the moment...haha

You can confirm about the receiver from dhl......

I got my PER at August 11th . I did not submit my up to date PCC. Can anybody tell me when CIC may ask for up to date PCC? Is that before medical or after medical? Thanks !

Pcc will be requested by visa office when your file will transferred ..
It depends upon vo...some vo asks for medical and pcc together

If I am going to send my application next week, for how long should the settlement funds be in my bank account? When do the embassy normally do its bank verification for the settlement funds?

You guys can't imagine the feeling I had when I opened a mail from CIO with a Subject "Application for Permanent Residence in Canada".

But I read it through, hopefully, til I get to:

"Based on a review of the information you have provided, your application has received a positive determination of eligibility to be processed on the basis of work experience in an occupation specified in the Instructions issued by the Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism and published in the Canada Gazette on May 1, 2014. However a final decision on your eligibility to be selected as a federal skilled worker will be made by a visa office."


Oh my freakin' GOD!!! I got the P.E.R!!!

Some people stated that they got a mail with the points considered by CIO, but mine was just this (among other things) but no point mentioned.

I'm so freaking happy right now! I can't stand myself!

I'm a May 9th Applicant. SS updated.

[size=9pt] Dear Jamal, Getting married while the process is still on is much easier and less time taking. So please go for option 1. Good luck!

Once married you'll need to submit documents for spouse and some updated documents / forms for self etc. at VO and it will take 3 or so months longer to process the case. And both can then go to Canada together and become PRs.

I have quick question please...

Below is the quoted words from our CIC website.

"As of May 1, 2014, there is an overall cap of 25,500 for new federal skilled worker applications. This includes a cap of 500 applications from PhD students. There are also sub-caps of 1,000 for each of the 50 eligible occupations. The caps do not affect people with a valid job offer. These are the last applications we will accept under the current system before Express Entry launches in January 2015."

My question is for 50 occupation - Shouldn't be the overall cap of 50000?????????

Why is it only 25000.
