@ sunnytheshine,

Just wanted to know if you'd followup with CIO for processing your refund last year ?
Refer to Century's post- link.. "they will refund for NER"

Is there any disconnect ?

According to OP6c, they will refund for NER. After PER, no refund.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op06c-eng.pdf

9. Procedure: Assessing the application against Ministerial Instructions

If the application is determined to be eligible for processing, the applicant will be informed. Once
the CIO has made a positive eligibility determination, processing has begun and processing fees
are no longer refundable.

If the application is determined to be ineligible for processing, the applicant will be informed and will receive a refund of processing fees. The application will not be returned..

 If the application does not meet all the criteria of applicable Ministerial Instructions, then the CIO will make a final negative determination of eligibility for processing and:
o record the outcome and reasons in GCMS;
o initiate a refund of processing fees; and
o inform the applicant (see Appendix A for sample letter).
The application will not be returned to the applicant.

My dear Sheet Admins,

Thanks for your efforts.

I have noticed that the entries under each stage are not 100% descendingly listed according to Application Received Date, there is some mixing between dates.

On the same note I suggest the following: after listing the applications at each stage descendingly as per the received date, I suggest to add another filter rule which is to list the applications for the same date according to NOC. By doing this, the applicant will easily know which of the same NOC is sharing him the same stage.

Thank you and best regards

@ gandhi nish-a/nt

In cases where people have two post graduate Post-graduate or post-secondary? These two are very different things. Two year diploma equivalent is not a post-graduate diploma, but is post-secondary. credentials.. their Canadian Equivalence Summary explicitly states "A' and 'B' (can somebody who's got a ECA Summary like this pls confirm ?)

I would suggest you immediately write to WES.. check/ ask your Summary to mention both the Credentials ( Degree A and Diploma B). And if they have a valid for reason for not showing both in the Summary so be it 8)

I suspect CIO will award you points by looking at the Summary and Not the underlying constituents- Analysis (in which case you will have to settle with 21 points - Bachelor's Degree (four years) ) The whole reason CIC introduced ECA last year was to save their Processing time in Analyzing the Canadian Equivalence Summary of foreign education credentials.

People have their own/ different basis for 21 or 22 points but None of us here represents either WES or CIO. Its their decision which is final and binding 8)

Also, I don't agree they will look only into summary — that seems to be an overly simplistic approach.

Ok I have just recevied email notification from WES saying that my evaluation is complete.

Here is the detailed report that I saw in View Report tab: LET ME KNOW THE POINTS I CAN CLAIM AS PER CIC

CANADIAN EQUIVALENCE SUMMARY
Bachelor's Degree (four years)

CREDENTIAL ANALYSIS
1 Credential Authentication: Official transcripts were sent directly by institution
Country: India
Credential: Diploma in Industrial Electronics
Awarded by: Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education
Institution Status: Recognized
Admission Requirements: Secondary School Certificate
Length of Program: Four Years
Major/Specialization: Industrial Electronics Technology
Canadian Equivalency: Secondary School Diploma and diploma (two years)

2 Credential Authentication: Official transcripts were sent directly by institution
Country: India
Credential: Bachelor of Engineering
Awarded by: Mumbai University
Institution Status: Recognized
Admission Requirements: Secondary School Graduation
Length of Program: Four Years
Major/Specialization: Computer Engineering
Canadian Equivalency: Bachelor's Degree (four years)

On WES evaluation

If let's say a person has a PhD degree, then everyone agrees he/she shall get 25 points. Now, there could still be 2 cases as far as WES evaluation is concerned. The person might...

1. Submit only PhD credentials, and the WES evaluation summary would read Canadian Equivalency : PhD (25 points).
2. Submit PhD, Masters, and Bachelor credentials, and the WES evaluation summary would still read the same although listing each of the three individually in detail. They assume (or evaluate) that the rest of the subordinate degrees are the requirements for this higher degree (PhD) here. Again, only 25 points, not any more.

Now, there could be cases where people have done multiple diplomas, multiple Bachelors, multiple Masters, or even multiple PhDs (:-X). In these cases, one more point could be scored, as long as those degrees are mutually exclusive, i.e. they should not be the requirements for one another.

In your case, Diploma in Industrial Electronics is separate than the Bachelor in Computer Engineering, but the diploma is of duration 2 years, rather than stipulated three years for 22 points. Hence, you will get 21 points based on the WES summary.

Regards
