Couple of more questions pls - For POF, I have 7 lacs (single applicant) in the form of FD. I am yet to submit my application.

1) After applying till how long we need to maintain the funds?
2)I also have a loan of 3 lacs - do we need to mention it under liabilities? how do they know - will they check with the credit agencies? - If so is it safe to mention the same under liabilities and put 3 more lacs in savings/FD?

Pls suggest.

Thanks.

There is lot of worry around DDs. Credit Cards are safer, but then not all people have it (especially ones with international validity).

Why does no one go with the 3rd and the most reliable option, MONEY ORDER ? You just can't go wrong with it.

I guess this is all about the impatience of getting to know whether the application went through or not. No one will know if they charged you or not. But you can be rest assured, if your application is alright, they will get the money for sure. Otherwise, you can always en-cash back your money order.

Hello All !!!

I think the DDs in foreign currency are valid for six months by default. No need to worry. 3 months validity is for domestic instruments.

However, I have a concern of my own. On my DD it says pay to: 'Receiver General For Canada' instead of as specified on the payment form : 'THE RECEIVER GENERAL FOR CANADA' is that an issue. Please comment, kinda freaking out.
Cheers!!!

You can't show car as an asset.

How to declare the value of a Car under asset?

Do it need some docs to attach? Like what.

Thanks

Hmm as per the spreadsheet there were at least 7 PER yesterday .. considering the fact that we have 7 documented .. I am sure there were several others issued to people not in the sheet.

CIC is indeed hard at work on PERs .. I am guessing anywhere between 10-15 a day. At the same time I am seeing a decline in new apps being charged. So some sort of balancing act being done here.

I am pretty sure both PER and charging will speed up much more after 13th May apps are all taken care of as the volume of apps declines after that.

Visa offices (like SVO and NDVO) better get their act together otherwise a huge backlog will build up there..

Yes thats what I hope too, process will speed up mid May

It is never safe to misrepresent anything.

Mention all your liabilities, assets accordingly on the corresponding boxes.

1) i will suggest you to maintain till the process..
2) yes you must mention loan as a liability... If cic got to know about that then you will be in trouble...pls don't hide this...they must deduct your loan amount in the form of emi from your account and your account statement will clearly reflect your emi...so don't misrepresent yourself...

Summary althought does not show it, but it shows two canadian equivalence...

So what do you think, 22 or 21 ? Because if 22 I can send application as I get exact 67/100 but if 21 then I am short of 1 point. 66/100. ?

22 points for the two credentials.

Refer this doc for more details:-
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/pdf/ECA_table_EN.pdf

Also wait for your courier to be received, it shall have separate pages for each of your credentials so that will clarify things further for you.

First question is that how can someone with a Bachelor degree attain experience if teaching at the university level.

One must at least be a Master's degree holder to do so.
