Hi All,

I am the main applicant ...What if my spouse receives a new passport after the application has been made on the old one.

Do we need to inform or wait until we hear from the CIC.

Reason to change: We changed the passport as it had a mistake in spelling and at lot many places.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I have emailed them too but didnt get a satisfactory reply, tried to connect thru call but it goes on answering machine.

Can anyone please guide me what's causing the delay and how can I pursure further ( I know that there are hell lots of applications at UoT but they committed a 5 weeks time).

Also, has anyway aorund chosen to get the ECA report from UoT?

Thanks

Seniors @ Century/ Neel-Here/ Oscar/ Ananjay;

Need to hear your thoughts related to a very important point - I was going thru the series of post a while back and had noticed that @GTiwana's file was kicked back due to some confusion about Job Duties/ certain key words that were missing. Though I did not follow his posts completely to determine the exact reason, but I am assuming it was more related to the job duties that were missing as part of his NOC. In my situation, though my file has already reached a while back, however upon noticing I realised that, in all of my Work Experience SUpporting documents, the word "Full Time" is missing. As much as I have already attached all of the related docs - Appointment/ Increment/ Promotion/ Pay Stubs/ Verification Letters from HR (including job duties et all)/ Tax Docs/ Business Card; I have clearly mentioned the "Type of Employment" in my Cover letter as a prelude to it. Now, based on your experience, I need to know if all these docs will be able to convince the IO adjuticating the case OR I need to start doing my homework of procuring the revised letters again?

I will really appreciate your thoughts on this? Anyone who has received PER and had submitted similar docs can also share their experience(s) pls; I am really loosing my sleep over this now :(

Thanks

PCC issue

Hello guys,

I have taken new passport as my old one has been expired. I have applied for my PR with old passport. Now I am planning to take my PCC as I did not submit my PCC with PR application. Any body knows which passport (new or old) I should use to take a PCC? Also do I need to inform to CIC about my change of passport?

Thanks.

Hi every one,
Can anyone please advice me regarding this matter,
Can my spouse claim point for his non Canadian education?
Thanks. :)
:)
..
I am assuming you are the primary applicant. In this case NO. No points for spouse education.

She can help you by adding 5 points to the total if she scores 5 or 5+ in all sections of IELTS

Asmia,
Just relax...just wait for file to come here in new delhi vo or your local vo then update the current passport no. to your application.
After then you should go for pcc. If you are going pcc, then it will expire as cic asks to submit pcc which is 3 months old.

When you have submitted your app?? Have you got your cc dd charged if yes then when???

Thanks @Oscar7; appreciate your thoughts! I completely concur with you, as much as we expect these IO's to remain transparent and consistent in their decision making authority, it'll be best to just wait & watch here. The info GTiwana provided was definitely half baked and the potential reason(s) were also that the forum members were themselves trying to decipher?

[size=9pt] Hi there, No point losing sleep over GTiwana's case. I am not sure how many people 'fully' understood his case here. I doubt many did!! Despite my asking him for clarity, on at least 3 occasions, he choose not to respond. Till date his case remains a mystery (to a lot of folks here) as he had posted only half baked assumptions and guesses plus never really answered the many questions he was asked (as a follow up). Don't know if he genuinely didn't have time to answer questions about his own case (which is very much possible) or there was some other reason to not disclose too much information (and that is understandable as well - I personally don't like to share too many specifics about my case either). We wish nothing but the very best for him though!! :)

For most of us it is not easy to say what will convince the case officer. As a matter of fact we don't even know if every case officer acts very similarly, for a given situation, or if there exists a variance in checking styles basis the personalities / behaviors. Of course we would hope it is uniform across the board.

My suggestion is, no point losing sleep over something one has now no control over - ties back to '7 habits of highly effective people' and the concept of 'circle of influence versus circle of control' for the 'Be Proactive' habit. Sorry for the management 101 off-track there! I believe you have done your best and now it is time to leave it on CIC to take care of the rest. Good luck & sleep peacefully! :)

(The post got buried without getting comments. Posting this again one more time, hopefully last. )

First for all, congratulations to all who have gotten their payments charged and/or received PER email, or moved further up the ladder.

Feel sorry for those whose applications have been returned, but they can always try again with modifications as needed.

All the best to those who have yet to apply, like myself.

Please let me know if there is anything that I missed. Planning to send it by Tuesday.

Thanks dhanu 786 for your reply. But, police certificates are generally considered to be valid for one year from date of issue, not three months.
