Hello Folks,

! my query is that I was trying to calculate eligibility for Canada Immigration for a friend!

For this process I have also included my friend's Wife's credentials as a dependent. With regards to her wife's education, since she has already completed her masters here in India. I need to understand that do we have to get her education also evaluated from WES for claiming her educational credential points?

Since we are in the initial stage of starting the process, so we may send his wife's education documents as well to WES for evaluation. IF not required, then we may dispatch the friend's document by today itself without any further delay.

Best regards,
ashesh

ECA is required only for the principal applicant.
Points can be claimed for spouse if - Your accompanying spouse or common-law partner completed at least two academic years of full-time study (in a program of at least two years in duration) at a secondary or post-secondary school in Canada. Full-time study means at least 15 hours of instruction per week, and your accompanying spouse or common-law partner must have remained in good academic standing (as defined by the school) during the period of full-time study in Canada.

There is no need to get wife's educational credentials assessed as no additional points will be given for this. If she has completed at least two academic years of full-time study in Canada, only then you can claim 5 points under Adaptability section. Would rather advise you to have her appear in IELTS as principal applicant can claim 5 points for spouse language level.

Hi PBT,
Its not a problem at all...as the reason is cap reached you can apply again with same or a new category, but the duties should match the corresponding category.Go ahead :)

Ok. But it is not a self-attested one...I am providing reference letter from my ex-superior (not on letter head), and along with it, i am giving my affidavit for why I cant provide a reference letter...is that fine ..?

In a big confusion now...

Its ok .

1. Mention the full contact details of this ex-superior you are taking your letter from . Provide business card.

2. All other supporting documents (pay slip, offer letter ,employment contract etc) to prove that you have worked in this company.

3. Provide correspondence ,for instance e-mail copy , to prove that it is against the company policy and/or any other reason which they might have cited to deny you the letter.

4. Cover letter why you are unable to provide the letter on letterhead

Amit,
Can you please suggest.
I have recieved my ECA report and I'm yet to file for CIC under NOC-2173..As i heard that 2173 is fast filling,i worried if i have to file it or not? Also my total experience is 10+ and worked for 2 companies. One of my employer refused to give me experience letter in CIC specified format.I have the email from them which says they refuse to give the experience letter. In this situation what should i do?
Please suggest.

Hello Everyone .. Thank you to the moderators, experts and seniors for helping us out through nervous moments of the Visa application Lifecycle. I have sent my application through DHL from India on last Thursday (24th July 2014). If my application is received today. How much time do you think i should expect before my application is reviewed? I have applied under NOC 2171

Thanks again guys for networking here.

All the best to everyone

Regards
Srikanth

[size=9pt] We can see the trigger for your taking the plunge here! :P Many congratulations!!! :)

Thanks, well aren't you always spot on with your humor? ;D

Just to give a bit more information, I wanted to apply for 2174 last year but got late.

But this year I started preparing well in advance.
Got the ECA done from WES in January this year and IELTS done in March.

Even though it was a bit of a gamble, as I wasn't sure that 2174 or 2173 will re-appear in this year's NOC list, but still I went ahead with ECA and WES, it is paying off now :)

Now agonising wait of PER begins :D

Send your application, dont worry for CAP as of now.

[size=9pt] GT, For someone of another NOC it becomes easier to review when you match your reference letter lines with that of the NOC guide, item by item (either by pasting these together line by line for matching duties or by similar color coding). If you can re-send in that way I'd be happy to review.

Good luck with this new application. I feel CIC was rather harsh with your reference letter last time around. I will pray for you, mate!

PS - I am sure you have updated / signed and dated all forms as well as got a fresh bank statement made for POF. Also a new DD, if that is what you are using.

Oscar,

I am also resending my file for noc 2173, let me know whether I have to take Bank Statement Again??
