dear seniors ,Exerts please advice..
We have applied for fsw program this time with myself as primary and spouse.

We are applying from India and maintain exact 8 lakhs for this purpose in account.

Canadian dollar value is changing and now I see that the amount 14,720 ( for 2 people) cad equates more than 8 lakhs as the rate is 55.55 ₹.

so will dat lead to rejection..Please advise.

What they do they put a lock in date on your application. So specifically talking about rates, if your application was received on xx date then rate from that date will be taken into consideration or the day bank letter was issued to you. I don't think it will lead to rejection, but what I would suggest is to deposit 20-30k to avoid currency difference incase they asked you to send them updated bank statement in future.

Cic is still on 12th. I wish if they could make three four days progress before Friday. I still have a long way to go. This waiting kills me

[Thanks for the reply. Yeah just few minutes back I have called my courier person to look into the matter.
he said he will enquire from DHL. I am waiting for his reply.
Why I got panicked because FSW list which is updated yesterday did not show any addition in the 2263. My file was
delivered on 23rd july 2014. The list of 2263 before and after 23rd shows entries as two. I am worried a lot. ???]

My application was received at cic on 19th june... dat time the amount required was around 7.9 lks INR..but its abt 8.18 LKs INR..

If you have shown INR7.9 Lacs then its falling short of $500 (roughly) at the current rate.

I am a little curious to know whether the amount you presented as POF back then was exactly CAD 14720 or a little more ?

I am not sure if CIC reviews POF based on historical forex rates (or the rate as on date of application). If they do they will ask you to present revised statements but logically this does not happen until the app reaches post AOR stage and POF is reviewed as part of PER.

The most accurate answer would be from someone who has this experience in the past of his/her app being accepted/rejected due to forex variations.

thax bro..ur reply gave sme hope..

A suggestion to all applicants:

If you calculate the equivalent in Canadian Dollars of your local currency on your own, attach a print-out of the current exchange rate from a trusted source to show the officers how you have come up with the final amount in Canadian Dollars.

If you do not do that, the officers most likely look up the current exchange rate by themselves which might get you into trouble if the exchange rate moved significantly in the meantime!

The best way however is to get a printout by your bank that shows your account balance equivalent in Canadian dollars - then you are 100% safe.

No. It says May 4th 2013. That was the day the 2013 cap opened. It hasn't been corrected. And even then it was wrong. It should say "since" not "as of."

It is widely accepted after careful analysis by forum members that the cap page represents the number of PERs issued as of the time the page was updated. Because PERs come anywhere from 8-12 weeks after applications are received, the cap page is always behind. It is a good guess that the current numbers include some May 7th applicants, but certainly not all.

Ok in that case the spreadsheet assumption ( 20% of global 1112 applicants) from last year would still hold as there are 28+ forum applicants on forum till 6th may and 65+ till 8th May.
It should also mean that once 16th May (or 23 May to be more sure) pool is reached and cap gets updated after that .. we shall have a a better idea about cap limits as the 1112 applications just dried out after that.

the number shown on the CIC website is not the total number of received applications, but the number of applications that have successfully passed the first review (PER), so your application will not be included there until you have received the PER which will take a few more months.

Good luck with your receipt, anyway the count is updated only for the candidates who are positively evaluated.

Hi Oskar

My worry now is whether the overall cap 25000 will get fill???

No 25000 cap will not fill this year. I think not more than 10000 apps will be filled.

What's the purpose of the cover letter?
my HR is giving me a basic relieving letter with no details regarding job duties. my previous manager who is now in another company can given me his reference. so u suggested me to take a print out on plain A4 sheet from him. i thought it is better to include a covering letter to explain the situation to the CIC. that's why asking if you could guide me to write a cover letter for this case.

What is the expected time to transfer the application from NS to Local VO after getting the PER?

Hi Seniors,

I had taken a Fixed deposit to show POF. The FD account will be Auto closed in 390 days(on Maturity).

If my application is not processed in this 390 days, and to show my POF again in the local VO, I have to start an another FD account which may be different from the now given FD account number. Will that be a problem?
Please advice.
