I agree with Harka007. I had done same thing. My file reached on May 1. It is returned on May 9. They won't ready any letter or ANY DOCUMENT whatsoever.
Original valid IELTS & Original ECA must. In my case, forget IELTS, I had actually got PR but lapsed due to residency obligations not met. Copy of old PR Card also attached. I got file back on May 9.... Those @ CIC are Robots who check the file vs. check list... funny part, in my file which I got back... all such cover letter etc. they put at last and only documents as per checklist have been arranged and looked at by them.

2 Labels that can be pasted on an envelope if for some reason your application needs to be returned (god Forbid)...!!!

1 in English and 1 in your native language

Kind of silly question.. What kind of envelope did you guys use? ( color, transparency, how fancy, etc)

Hi Seniors,
Last year I applied under 1112 category but unfortunately my application got rejected because of not getting the pass mark of 67. The reason of that was that WES evaluate my qualification as Two Years Undergradute & the assessing officer gives only 5 marks for education. As the start of this year FSWP in May I contacted WES to review my evaluation & tell me what is the Canadian Equivalency of my qualification and after 2.5 months they informed yesterday that my evaluation is done & they sent me by courier and as per soft copy from their site it is showing now Canadian Equivalency Diploma Two Years which as per CIC should get 19 marks hence as per this I should get 67 total Marks. Last year when I applied my employer agreed to give me experience letter which math the 1112 while my actual work matches with 0013 & 1111. Now my confusion is whether I should apply under same 1112 category or can I apply under 0013 Category which is less hot as compared to 1112.

Re: Most IMPORTANT questions on FSWP 2014

I am amazed at the kind of questions people ask here sometimes:

1) A mechanical engineer is asking whether writing in CAPS is okay or not, and if one can use abbreviations on form. Please tell me - for this you are perfectly okay to follow someone's suggestion here rather than use your own common sense! I am sure you can answer these questions by yourself mate! :

2) A nurse is asking what color envelop to use and whether it can be fancy or not, among other things. :-* I mean we aren't sending a birthday greetings here, so no need to add sparkles and use perfumed envelopes and papers in it. But if you like please include "Miss U" and "Kiss Me" stickers on the envelope. That might speed up the decisioning process! :-[

No it can be in your currency. However, it needs to be equivalent of the amount (CAD) you need to show would also recommend 10% as a contingency reserve as $$ can bounce up and down...!!!

A couple of important questions that I did not ask so far as I was waiting for the CC to get charged first.
Before questions, a declaration.
In my case, I put my wife as a primary applicant. She is CA with 8+ years of work exp. NOC 1112
Since she is primary applicant, I added entry for her in tracking sheet. I now see why some forum members would think I am a gal. I am not.
I am into IT with 13+ years experience. The only reason I put my wife as primary applicant was she was getting support from her
current organization for role specific letters. Both of us have been with our current org for 5+ years. In my case, my current employer
would never have given me role letter. Also, I am expecting promotion this year (level) so I didn't wanted to scare my boss or org.
Hence I decided to let my wife be primary appplicant.


Now, the questions; Seniors - please help me

1. My wife(primary appliant) had her name spelled wrong on her BC. Surprizingly the 10th passing spelled her name right. and then 12 passing was again wrong.
After that, all her degree certificates, passport, pan card, org letter and all other documents, have no problems with name spelling.

With BC and 12 passing certificate having her first name spelled wrong, will it affect PER ?
Note: I did not attach any affidavit to clarify this.

2. While filling up travel details, for one of my trip to US for 5 months and 20+ days approx, I just rounded that to say 6 months on the form.
Now, I know what I have invited more. I think 6 months or more need to provide PCC. God, I did know this quite well then. Can I clarify this
to the local VO when my file reaches that stage (insha-allah) and avoid getting into the process of securing PCC from US?
No issues in getting that, but why the added step, when technically I was not there for 6 months or more at a stretch?

3. For India PCC for both of us, I heard people say - it does not take more than 30 odd days, depending on city. I dont feel I should yet
start the local PCC process. I can wait for my PER and advice from local VO when they ask for it. Does any senior feel otherwise if I should
start the process for local PCC and secure it anyway in the meantime?


The next 2 questions should really be asked after securing PER, but I would still ask them now anyway.

4. When we do get through all the stages and the time comes to fly, I would like my wife to keep her job in India. I know, now that I have put her
as primary applicant she would have to accompany me atleast for the first time. The question is:
a) Does she have to stay their with me for long? how long? Is it only for the time we get the PR card, and then she can return?
I would like her to keep her job in India intially for a period of say 1 year. During that time, I would like to stay back in Canada,
find job in my field, go through the struggle period alone (with less family stakes) and then when I am a bit settled, call my wife
and my son to accompany me.

5. My CC got charged, great. However for the next charge whenever that is in the stages (guess PR fees) - I will have to give a new DD or submit
another fee payment form for CC, right? The reason I am asking is, my card is going to expire by May 2015. I hope they dont assume the same card
can be used for the next charge. Also I am not sure if by May 15 this charge would become due. I really want to know if I have flexibiity to choose
my next payment mode when that is due. Do I have that flexibility?

I am going to pay by demand draft. I know it is to be made in the favour of "RECEIVER GENERAL OF CANADA". But can anyone tell me if there is any more information required like payable at ? Is there something like that. Can India banks like Yes Band,HDFC issue in Candaian Dollars ?

Bhavin5503: thanks for sharing about your case. It's surprising that your folder got returned within days, while mine has been with them for 2 months now, and stands a high chance for rejection due to the IELTS issue.

Harka007: no need to cut deeper into the wound, I was not trying to make a mockery of the system. When I heard in April that FSW was re-opening I rushed to register for new IELTS and traveled to another country for May 10th exam. Given that I only qualify for a mega-crowded NOC, the choices were:

1. wait to have the May 10th exam score sheet in my hand and take on the risk of the application arriving after the 1000 cap had been reached. (I didn't get the IELTS result in the mail until early July - it wasn't 3 weeks from the date of the exam, as they claim. Taking the exam in another country increases the risk of delays due to the fact that the score sheet letter has to make it through customs)

2. send application folder to CIC with all I had in early May - IELTS from Dec 2011, and proof that I was going to take another IELTS on May 10 2014.


I just chose option 2., given that in 2013 I got rejected due to cap filled. Looking back the best would have been to have arranged for a IELTS in December 2013, regardless of whether FSW would happen again or not. Oh well, one lives and learns.

Yes i have a DD in CAD from yes bank. Rest assured. They work. As i already did that for QSW before 6 months.
