Has anyone here done their ECA with ICAS? Do they always take 8 weeks?

Their website says it takes 6-8weeks. As per my ECA status, complete documents received on 5th May. Do I have to wait until 5th July?

i had applied to usa visitor visa in 2012 along with my father, mother and sister... but i was refused. and my old passport contains page showing 'deleted'....
After marriage, i had taken a new passport and it contains no previous information...
So what should I specify in question 6 e). Schedule A Background declaration

No dear Employment reference letter must be in original and other documents e.g. appointment letter, promotion letter, increment letter are true copied photo copy required.

check the document checklist for the same.

Controveries. For reference letter it does not specify whether original or copies are required. But for pay stabs, and other, copies are categorically mentioned. My bet is on both. If someone provide copy, there will be no problem. I might have reference letter of my 8 years old previous company and no way I would like to give the original.

Check between point 12 (work experience) and 13 (ECA).

For point 12: Copies (original may be requested later by an officer)
For point 13: Copies unless otherwise stated.

Yes, it is ok. Even if you have not attested, there will be no problem. Attestation is mandatory for only translation cases, if you translate hindi to english.

Is there any issue if the passport number is different at the time of submission and when the CIO reviewed the original document. My passport will be due for renewal in March 2015 and I will be given new passport number.

Can I proceed to apply with my current passport? What is the process to update my new passport number when it is ready?

Yes, go ahead. When you will renew your passport, the old passport number will be given there. Don't wait to renew passport. Apply now.

My friend with handle rajaram_friend has just confirmed that his status on ECAS site (www.cic.gc.ca) has been updated as 'In Process'.

He also confirmed that he hasnt recd PER mail either.

When I see the 2014 spreadsheet, it makes me feel relieved. But then again, I don't think this forum represents more than 10% of the total worldwide applicants. And half of them are not even bothered to put their app status in the spreadsheet.

Anyway, 37 apps has filled for 2281 as per the spreadsheet. My guess is that worldwide 500+ already? What do you guys think?

I am planning to apply on first week of July. Please brothers & sisters, keep me in your prayers.

1. Use your UCI given at that time.
2. Write YES and give explanation

Under document checklist, point number 12 - it is clearly written Copies(Originals may be requested later by an officer).

Any how sending original may not harm. but its better to keep original with you if your LOR is a generic and can be used somewhere else as well.
