Is there any issue if the passport number is different at the time of submission and when the CIO reviewed the original document. My passport will be due for renewal in March 2015 and I will be given new passport number.

Can I proceed to apply with my current passport? What is the process to update my new passport number when it is ready?

There is certainly no issue.
If at the time they request for your passport,you have already renew it.......you will send the biodata page of the two to them.
If it's when they want to stamp it,you will send both of your passports to your local visa office.
Please remember also that you renewed passport will have a link to the expired one....its no issue of worry.

They are suppose to give a refusal letter where you should be able to find the reason as well as UCI.

For UCI, if you don't have the letter and forget it, keep it blank. CIC themselve will give it for you.

For the rejection reson, if you don't have the letter, yes, you can write that. Also, you can add that your refusal letter has been lost so specefic reason cannot be given.

Generally the refusal letter contain reasons like 1. intention for not coming back 2. fail to show adequate fund 3.unemployed at origin country 4.misreprentation 5.travel history is not convincing enugh etc. etc.

i had applied to usa visitor visa in 2012 along with my father, mother and sister... but i was refused. and my old passport contains page showing 'deleted'....
After marriage, i had taken a new passport and it contains no previous information...
So what should I specify in question 6 e). Schedule A Background declaration

Have you ever been refused admission to, or ordered to leave, canada or any other country?

You will have to answer in the affirmative........yes.
Please don't hide any information in your application package......your local visa office will easily detect it especially when they do their background check on you.
Be truthful as much as you can.

Delivery to Sydney takes SO DAMN LONG!

I tried FedEx from Boston, US and they said it'll take 4 days. UPS said 3 days, but in the evening. WTF?

Anyone wanna share how long it took to deliver from their city?

for me, it stayed 1 full working day at Destination sort facility unfortunately next two days were weekends. so it took 6 days in total (4 weekdays +2 off days) via FedEx from Dhaka.

Latest Update -

My friend with handle rajaram_friend has just confirmed that his status on ECAS site (www.cic.gc.ca) has been updated as 'In Process'.

He also confirmed that he hasnt recd PER mail either.

He will soon get his PERS notification.
Some applicants get PERS notification and yet it will take up to a week before their details are updated on the ECAS.
Others get to know their updates via ECAS before receiving their PERS notification.
His PERS in on the way.......please tell him to be watchful of mails in his spam folders of his email......sometimes,the PERS mail get to go there directly without going to the inbox.

Ashifbhai and senior members,

I have some important queries related to my friend who has posted his application on 5th May 2014 and his application was received by CIC on 9th May 2014:

My friend had sent DD of CAD 1100 for me and my wife and his son was born on 24th March 2014 but his son was admitted to hospital for more than a month because it was a pre-mature delivery and my friend was able to get his sons's birth certificate only in the month of May around 15th May, suppose he gets PER in next 2 weeks provided his DD is en-cashed.

What should my friend do to include his son in his application after PER, shall he send additional CAD 150 along with new forms filled(which forms do he need to submit)?
Also, can he resubmit the revised proof of funds with more investments as Fixed Deposit?

His VO is New Delhi and which forms do he need to include for adding his son's name in my application?

My friend did not had any intention to hide any information about his son's birth from CIC but due to emergency circumstances at the time of filing application he did not mention his son's name(naming ceremony was on 8th May 2014), only after naming ceremony he got the Birth certificate for his son from Municipal Corporation. Will NDVO will consider his situation and include his son's name in his application after PER?

There is no issue with this.
After his PERS notification and also his acknowledgment of receipt from his local visa office,he can update his details to include the baby.Like you rightly pointed out,he will be asked for an update of his POF to match his new family size.He's going to pay the processing fee for the baby and send all necessary documents regarding the new baby.
Please tell your friend to wait be patient....once he gets PERS notification and AOR,he can write his local visa office to update his application status.

1) Since i have included DD, i will not be going to know if CIC has charged for my application or not. In how much time can i expect any update from CIC side confirming that my app is in progress now or any kind of status update?

2) After how much time will they ask for settlement funds? I will spend accordingly.

Hi all experts...

I submitted my application ( NOC 2281 ) on the 12th and it was received on the 15th. Now looking back at the entire process, I have a couple of questions.

- My application was received by Martell. I haven't this name in the FSW 2014 Sheet. Is there anyone else whose application was received by this guy.
- I submitted my wife's National ID card. It is the new smart card issued by the Pakistani government. Now the front side of the card has all the details in both English and Urdu, however, the back of the card has the residential address, which is in Urdu. Could this create any problems? I am the primary applicant and reside in U.A.E. My ID card is completely in English.

Appreciate if someone can clarify them.

I was only able to see my update on ECAS after almost 2 weeks!
Relax......it will be updated....possibly around Tuesday next week.
