A WORD OF CAUTION FOR APPLICANTS YET TO SUBMIT THEIR APPLICATIONS

For fee payment: Recommend using a Demand Draft (DD) instead of credit card as this would eliminate the possibility of your application being rejected owing to non payment of fees. It has happened quite often that the credit card issuer declines the transaction when CIC try to charge your card for the fees. I still remember a few applicants whose applications were rejected last year just because of this reason.

Though do bear in mind that you will end up paying a bit higher and that also upfront when applying for an International DD but at least this is what would ensure peace of mind and reduce the risk.

Friends, for copies is scanned copy acceptable?

I must appreciate your intellect (2 BS, Master & PHD... amazing), again point is you can only select 1 primary code.

My suggestion, go for 4011 (if you have enough work experience in it to qualify for 67 points) as 1112 is HOT. The Schedule 3, has only 1 place for NOC. If they were accepting applications under 2 NOC they would have provided space for 2.

As i mentioned earlier, only couple of guys (1 or 2) have reported an instance where they mentioned 2 NOCs and still got through it. All others got rejected. If you want to test your luck, be my guest.

Thank you for admiring me.
I am appreciated to you for your expert comment. Unfortunately, my experience letter for NOC 4011 doesn't have a duty because of strict people so I must write a duty myself but for NOC 1112, I have a duty. I want to send my application with two NOC in next week.
Please pray for me, this is my last chance because I already applied two times in 2013 and 2006 that I was not succeeded.

Info sharing for those who wants 2nd copy IELTS:

I have collected second copy of IELTS from British council and IDP. BC is for my wife and IDP is for myself.

British Council:

Required docs- 1. Last year application pack return back missing communication (i, e, Email) print out.
2. DHL Courier service POD (Prof of Delivery) print out.
3. UCI number
4. IELTS photocopy
5. BC application form fill-up

Time taken: 3 working days ( 2 times phone follow up and push them to make it early due to urgency)
Charge: 500 BDT (7 USD aprox.).

IDP:
Required docs- 1. IELTS photocopy
2. IDP application form
Time taken: 2 working days
Charge: FREE.

So the conclusion is that, IDP is more flexible than British council issuing a second copy IELTS and the rumor -'British Council never issue 2nd copy IELTS'- proven wrong. :P ;D

*this message is mainly posted for SP_BD member who is having the same issue like me.

Hi!
Im applying under NOC 4011 (University Professors and Lecturers).
Can anyone tell me what do they mean by this education requirement for this category?
"A master's degree in the field of specialization is required for university lecturers."

I have done MPhil Economics and I am teaching Maths in a University.
Am I eligible to apply?Im not teaching Economics but Maths, but I have done maths courses in my bachelors and masters programme too.

Also my title for the 1st year was Teaching Associate and then i got the title of Teaching Fellow. As a teaching assisstant too i was giving lectures to the bachelors students! Its just my university policy to have atleast 1 year experience in teaching to get the title of Teaching Fellow.

Since this occupation is up for immigration for the 1st time, i guess people will be confused as to what is required n what fits 100% into this category.

Can some1 please help me with this? about my eligibility?

We are only 2 members in family. My main concern is:

1) Is it a problem if value of liquid amount is less than liabilities?

Though if we sum up liquid amount + home value, we are good to go.

PLS REPLYY

THANKS

Reviewers have some discretion in judging whether you will be able to establish yourself economically in Canada. You certainly should include the value of your home as an asset (but not as settlement funds, because it's not liquid), and include your home loan in the liabilities. The more assets and settlement funds you can show the better. But it is not necessarily a problem if the liquid amount is less than the liabilities.

hi
concerning to work experience certificate, i have two questions.
m a bit confused, please help. my noc is 2173.

1. do we need to write it more specifically (like client's company name or the technology we use)?
or it's just a general duties and responsibilities descriptions?
2. i have been working at the same company(same department & job title) for more than 6 years.
i found that more than 90% of my job experience match the noc 2173 descriptions.
is it a problem?

1. It's not necessary to specify clients or the technology you use in your job unless that is essential to help the reviewer understand how your duties fit under your NOC.

2. 90% match is good.

Remember that the reviewer doesn't necessarily understand your field. Using technical terms or industry jargon without explanation runs the risk that the reviewer won't be able to understand the letter. Just make sure the letter clearly and explicitly states your duties and does so in a way that makes it clear you fit within the NOC. If some background is necessary to help achieve that understanding by all means have the writer of the letter add it in.

No.

I got msg from fedex that the docs got delivered on 14th May.
15th May status on wes website was : docs received review in progress
17th May status on wes website was : evaluation in progress and also received a mail saying it wud take till 27th May.

Hope they don't delay further.

You got an email today ? I thought they don't work on the weekends. Its a bit annoying to see my status still as 'Waiting for required documents' when I have a Proof Of Delivery from DHL confirming that the documents were received and signed for more yesterday morning 10:30 am Toronto time.

Guys, here is my timeline with ICAS:

Date Event
05/15/2014 Application reviewed for completeness and placed in queue for assessment
05/06/2014 Additional Info / Documents Received
04/11/2014 Additional information required. Communication sent by email
03/27/2014 Additional Info / Documents Received
03/17/2014 Application Received

Their website indicates that their processing time is approximately 6-8 weeks after all required documents are received in their office. Anyone in this forum has done ECA from ICAS?? Any idea when I will get the report? I have tried to push them make it quicker and also offered any extra fees if required. But they said in fairness to all the cannot do anything for me. What I am gonna do? I planned to apply under noc 2281. Now I don't think I will be able to send my app before July :(

I don't see the problem? You already have an application in under the 2013 program.

If your application reaches CIC after after cap is reached, your application including fee will be returned. That is what happened to those of us who applied last year but our applications got there late. This is the last year that CIC will use FSW program, last chance brother!

What makes you so sure that this is the last year they will have the FSW? Any official info from the website?

Sorry to say brother,

u have to submit all of the above docs...Since u cant hide that u are married u will need to submit along with the application...

So suggestion is to collect all of the papers urgently...

All of the country have the opportunity to collect PP and Marriage cert on urgent basis....

Since this yr CAP is 1000 u have enough chances...Also 2281 is not on the top hot NOC list...

So just run away swiftly to get the required docs...

I believe u can get the CAP even after waiting for the collection of required docs...:)

Good luck...

Thanks bro ... +1 for help
