FEW TIPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL APPLICATION

1. Link for the Application package containing Application forms, Fee payment form, Document check list, Instruction guide etc on CIC website.

2. Read the Instruction guide thoroughly. Fill your forms as per the instruction in Instruction guide.

3. Read the Document check list thorougly. If you are unable to provide any of the requested documentation, include with your application, a written explanation with full details as to why that document is unavailable and any documentation that would support your claim.

4. In the Document check list, It is clearly specified what documents you have to submit Original and what Photocopies.
Any document that is not in English or French must be accompanied by: the original English or French translation; and an original affidavit from the person who completed the translation; and a notarized photocopy of the document that was not in English or French as per the Instruction guide. However, as per the document check list, If your documents are not in English or French, you can send a notarized photocopy of the English or French translation with a photocopy of the document that was not in English or French.

5. Choose your appropriate Visa office in Generic form. Remember CIO, Sydney- Nova scotia is not a Visa office.

6. Don't leave any section/box blank in form. If something is not applicable to you then write "N/A" instead of leaving it blank.

7. Question No. 12 a. on Schedule 3 form: The primary NOC code is that particular NOC code you are eligible in out of the 50 eligible NOC codes. The primary occupation that you will fill in form should preferably be from the "Example Title" as listed in website for a particular eligible NOC code and your job duties must match with the eligible NOC Code. However, if your occupation is not listed in "Example Title" for a particular eligible NOC code but your job duties still matches with your eligible NOC code, you can still try your luck by mentioning that occupation which is not listed in "Example Title" as your primary occupation.

Your job experience letter must show the same occupation (job designation) you are filling in primary occupation of Question 12.a. For example, if you are applying in NOC Code 2132 ( Mechanical Engineer) but your job designation is "Thermal design Engineer" then you should fill primary occupation as "Thermal design Engineer" in Question 12.a. and provide work experience letter showing "Thermal design Engineer" as your job designation with job duties matching with NOC Code 2132.

The primary occupation you are filling in Question 12 a. must also be listed in Question 12 b. as one of your occupations.

8. Additional Family Information form: In section A of the form, Applicant is mentioned, not Principal Applicant.
Fill two seperate forms for Principal Applicant and spouse. In the first form, Principal Applicant is the Applicant and provide all subsequent details asked in form. In the second form, Spouse is the Applicant and provide all subsequent details asked in form. You have to fill one form only for one Applicant in English, write All names in native language as well in the same form.

9. Get ready with IELTS - General Training version (for you and your spouse), WES, PCC (PCC can be submitted at later stage also), Proof of funds ( 6 months bank statement, balance certificate from bank) and all other docs mentioned in Document check list applicable to you.

10. Job experience letter must also cover job duties matching with your NOC (but duties should not be exact copy & paste from website), your designation, salary, period of employment, working hours etc and should be on the company letter head duly signed by the competent authority with company seal. Also include Appointment letter / Employment contract, Visiting card of the signing authority, Salary pay slips if available.

11.. You can use bank draft (6 months validity) or credit card but if going for a credit card option, fill the details of credit card correctly on the Fee payment form and don't forget to sign it. You must inform your bank of the upcoming transaction so that your cc payment doesn't get blocked for whatever reason.

12. Before handing over your application to courier, check again if you have included all the updated, completely & correctly filled Application forms, Fee payment form, Document check list, photographs, supporting documents etc as per the listing on document check list.

You don't include PCCs with the initial FSW application. PCCs are requested later.

as per the current document checklist you should either attach with file or provide later. But in either or case what should i do?
question remains same. How i get pcc due to those issues?

Who is a Family member?

Family members : An applicant's closest relatives, in the context of an application to CIC. It is defined as a spouse or common-law partner, dependent children, and their dependent children.

Who is a Dependant?

Dependant: A spouse, common-law partner or dependent child of a principal applicant.

Pls note that mother, father, brother, sister, grandfather, grandmother, father-in-law, mother-in-law are not family members/dependant as per CIC guidelines therefore should not be included as "Dependants" in Generic form / Additional Dependant Form. Also don't send photographs for them.

Alternatives to birth certificate are as follows in CIC's own words

We do accept Secondary school records that contain the following :

Applicant's Name
Date of Birth
Name of Parent/Parents

If you are not able to provide a Birth certificate with all 3 criteria, we require an affidavit stating all of this information or that a Birth certificate cannot be attained.

So 10th standard school certificate or an affidavit containing applicants name, date of birth and Parent/Parents name should be fine in lieu of a birth certificate. Also you must give reason in a cover letter why you were not able to provide birth certificate and that you are providing 10th standard school certificate / affidavit in lieu of birth certificate.

Normally they response within 7 or 8 days depending on your documents. In some cases i have seen they have responded in 3 working days. If you have chosen courier service it should arrive to you in another 4-5 days depending to your location.

Hello,
Need urgent help.
I have applied to quebec earlier and now want to apply under FSW.
For quebec me & my spouse had applied with the passport of before marriage. i.e. i don't carry wife's name in my passport and she is having her maiden name in passport.
We provided marriage certificate as a proof and that works and we got the file number.

The problem is, i went to passport seva kendra for PCC and they rejected my application, as they were telling me i have applied as a married status for PCC while my passport does not have wife's name.
I explained the things above i have mentioned to them as well provided marriage certificate as a proof still they were not convinced.
They are telling me that either i should apply for PCC as a single (we both) or me & my spouse should change the detail in passport as per the name after marriage for her and for me add her name in my passport, then apply.
What should I do. Please help me guys.

i've used ICAS last year for my education assessment. it took me 20 days from the day i've sent my docs in, to the day i've received it at home. the school i was assessing my degree from is in the usa, and i live in serbia. hope this helps!

POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE

If you can obtain PCC within a short time then you can submit otherwise you also have the option of submitting it at a later visa office processing stage. It is better to include a cover letter with your application explaining why were you unable to submit the PCC with your application.

In the Document check list, you can write "Will submit to the visa office when requested" by black ink pen.

Cover letter for POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE

You can write it on a A4 size plain paper. No need to address anyone. For Example:-

I am unable to submit my police clearance certificate for India with my application due to...............(the reason can be like you already applied for Pcc but still didn't receive it because of longer processing times, you are no longer residing in any particular country and you have provided all your docs to one of your friends residing there to obtain pcc for you, etc,etc)

I will submit it to my visa office when requested to do so by the visa office.

Any senior member please guide me through this.
My education history.

First, I have completed 3 year diploma.
Then I have completed 3 year degree. ( course duration was of 4 year but as i have completed diploma i was allowed to jump 1st year. )

Yes mr.hope i did not started from 1st year and started form 2nd year. But as per my university rule we had to clear 4 subjects from 1st year (2 subjects for 2 semester). So i do have mark-sheets for all 4 year.

I have sent WES only my degree documents ( transcripts + all mark-sheets + degree certificate ).

Now my transcripts shows that course duration was of 4 years. And i was student of university for 3 years.

How do i clarify this to WES people ? (They have not asked me yet, but in case if they do.)

More over if how do i show them that i was allowed to jump 1st year as i had a diploma. ( please suggest me which or any paper that proves this situation to both cic and wes. )

Hope you must be good. I have a small but very important question I have an engineering degree with the title '' Telecommunication Engineering " and all the courses on my transcript are same as in electrical engineering. i am not sure that with this degree i am eligible or not, kindly share your opinions. i am thakful.

Secondly for degree evaluation , is it necessary that intermediate( secondary certificate ) degree must be evaluated or my engineering transcript will work ?

Lastly , is it necessary to attach bank statement while applying ? or later we can send them the statement.
