Few days ago, an applicant's package was returned as 3 months validation clearly mentioned on his DD..
So ur logic of 6 month is overridden if something is explicitly written on instrument.

Agree with you partially, to rectify and reinstate my earlier statement, any foreign DD issued in partnership with a Canadian bank has a default validity of 6 months UNLESS the instrument (DD) has 3 months validity written/stamped/marked on it. If however, nothing is marked on it by default (or 6 months is marked on it obviously), it would be valid for 6 months...

Almost all the people who sent their DDs, got it encashed only after 3 months, because the average wait time between submission of the application and issuance of the PER is almost 120 days (almost 4 months) by current trend that we have observed on this forum...

If last week CIC charged on Saturdays and Sundays, this week also should not be different, considering their achievement targets must have only become steeper as yer end is approaching. Also Express entry is to be launched later in january. Though FSWP14 will continue till April 30th 2015.

Hello All

I have sent an enquiry mail to canadian embassy, new delhi intimating them about addition of family member.
Below was their reply:

You will be required to submit the following documents in order to add your child to your application:

- a letter explaining how your family composition has changed and requesting that your child be added to your application
- processing fee for the child (if accompanying you to Canada)
- updated IMM0008 Generic Application Form and updated IMM5406 “Additional Family Information” form for yourself and your spouse to include added child
- If the child is 18 years or older, an IMM0008, Schedule A and IMM5406 Additional Family Information Form
- notarized copy of the child’s birth certificate
- copy of your child’s valid passport(s) both valid and expired
- four recent passport-size photographs of your child according to the specifications
- if you applied as a Skilled Worker - updated proof of funds for number of family members to now include added child

My queries are:
1) Whether i need to send the first and last page of passport or all 36 pages copy of passport.
2) Only child's birth certificate has been asked to be notarized. What about passport?
3) I have submitted proof of funds for self only (as planning to go alone as of now), whereas the last point asks updated proof of funds to be submitted for number of family members incl child.
