Is background check performed prior to MR or after? Especially in cases where one hasn't provided PCC with application!

Background checks are before MR. Criminality checks are also before MR.

Logically speaking, background check should be prior to MR regardless of PCC provided before or not.

I asked a consultant. He said, MR issues only when background checks get over.

I asked my bank again. Let's see what they say. There is a guy whose application (GTiwana?)received 1st August and DD was enchased on 6th Nov. So by virtue of this, DD of 5th Aug applicant should be en-cashed this week?

I've been living in Canada for more than 1 year and my VO supposed to be Mexico, but I have read that they can change it to Ottawa if you are living here, So my question is how do I know if they changed my VO or not, I got PER on Nov 7.

Hello Gaby, I would say was good you stated Mexico city at first office. My question is :

1) At the time of app received, were u holding a valid visa for one year?

2) What kind of visa are you on right now? Student, Visitor, open work permit..etc

I think if I you got already PER u should be fine, they will let you know then if your case was transferred. ;D

Is there any way I can get my UCI number before PER? My bank has confirmed today that DD is still not encashed. Worried about the status.

try calling CIC...I called them and managed to speak today after number of failed attempt. I explained the agent the date when application was received and he said wait let me check this. He paused for a minute or so and then said as it is 10 weeks since application is received and the feedback can be provided . then he said he can not provide the details and it is better to email CIO. I said I have done it and he said they will come back to you. I again asked, is it not possible for you if u can guide me about UCI/Application number or some reference to trace status on ECAS website, he said he does not have any details.....and then I politely ended the call....

Seniors...do you think he had the information and he was holding it back? I think I should call them again perhaps tomorrow?

Thank you All for the support and wishes, please feel free to ask me queries related to process before MR i will be more than happy if i can be of any help.

Having said above i will be proactive about replying to queries on the forum but do let me know if i miss out on anything.

Should i start preparing for PCC which i have not sent for for my spouse? and also find more details about the medical tests and stuff or shall i wait for the NDVO to send me an email with the request.
Anybody from bangalore can provide me with information on hospital for medical tests.
Updating SS and the same in the profile as well for reference.

What you've said is controversial, I had to go thru a painful and needless discussion when I joked about processing speed ;D

Because you said those who wish you will get speedy visa, and those who don't will suffer. I don't want speedy PR visa, I want it to be delayed!

You've put in a dilemma! However, I've decide not be selfish and wish happiness on your birth anniversary!

I didn't remember saying something like that to anyone ,and Its not my birthday today.
