I would like to share the approach I used for experience reference letters. I worked with two companies as a financial analyst. 1 year 10 months for the first one and 3 years 4 months for the second one. Although I did get the experience letter from the first company, the second company refused to provide the reference letter citing company policy. I did the following things to make my application stronger
1. Explained the situation in the cover letter
2. Attached the print out of the email refusing to provide the reference letter
3. Included a self-declared affidavit containing all the information asked for
4. Included the cover pages of a few investment research reports that had my name as an analyst on them.
5. Ofcourse, include the experience reference letter from my first company.
6. Included all the relevant appointment letters, increment and promotion letters and pay stubs
Although I had a total experience of over 10 years, I did not attach any reference letters for any job other than these two. I did include appointment letters, promotion letters and pay slips for all of my jobs.
I wasn't sure that this would work but apparently it was.
