Thanks in advance to bear with me for lengthy text below.

Please help me to find out suitable NOC for following responsibilities. I am confused in between 2171 and 2173 because my tasks involve Business Analysis, Testing, Training and sometimes participated in Technical Pre-sales (RFPs & demos) as well.

1. Study the organization’s existing processes to recognize the weaknesses and recommended enhancements with the help of best practices.

2. Monitor the efficiency of the processes execution and to implement improved processes in upcoming projects.

3. Interact with client in all phases of SDLC for understanding the requirement and expectations and take immediate actions on client’s feedback.

4. Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios and business analysis.

5. Analyze the client’s existing system and compare with organization’s system and recommends the modifications with minimal cost and time required.

6. Prepare and review business requirement documents and signed-off from client including Software Requirement Specification, Use Cases, UML, Mockups, etc.

7. Sessions with Project Manager, Development team and Testing team to ensure that requirements are correctly understood and delivered for implementation.

8. Review of technical design based on functional requirements and suggest improvements.

9. Work closely with project manager and technical team to assist in finalizing the project scope, resources assignment and timelines for delivery.

10. Prepare and review test plan, test cases, automated scripts, defects reporting, execution of different testing types functional, performance, GUI, Database, etc. and lead testing team.

11. To update project team about the quality of system with defects report and testing cycles.

12. Responsible for releases deployments.

13. Responsible to conduct training and writing user manual.

14. Involved in user acceptance testing and change management process

15. Pre-Sales activities including client handling, conduct product demos, project proposals writing, technical and functional RFP fulfillment, resource/cost estimations, etc.

Thanks Bro. I have registered in WES site, but yet to pay. So I didn't get any reference number. Is it mandatory to mention WES Ref # in Academic Records Request Form ?

YES.....it will be included in your school's seal envelope with your transcripts to be sent to WES.
Once you pay,you should have reference number.

At last i got my WES evaluation report and with no delay i've send my FSW application. So here's my WES Timeline:

sent Documents 29th April-----> received by the authority 2nd may-----> acknowledged in Website 5th May----->sent for verification to my institution 7th may-----> verified and status changed to evaluation on progress 12th May-----> completed on 15th May----> UPS delivery sent 16 May----->received by me 20th May.

How does CIC operate?


1) CIO Sydney – Completeness check
Once your application arrives at CIO, Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada the first thing that happens is it will undergo a completeness check. This check will ensure:
- That you have included all required forms
- That any forms which have space for a signature have been signed and dated
- That you have not left any blank fields
- That you have included the correct payment fee
- That you have included all supporting documents required by both the main CIO checklist, and the visa-office specific checklist

If unsuccessful your entire application will be returned to you by regular post with a covering letter. You will not get an email notification from CIO.

2) CIO Sydney – Payment charged
If your completeness check is successful your payment will be taken. This means CIO will attempt to charge your credit card, or they will cash your banker's draft, depending on which method of payment you chose.

I would personally strongly advise using a banker's draft if possible. These are like personal cheques but they are guaranteed to clear so there can be no payment problems. Most banks will usually charge a small fee for issuing one of these.

Credit cards can be risky. Many banks and credit card issuers use automated security software and when the software sees the source from Canada it may block the transaction, which in turn could lead to your application failing and being returned.

If your payment is unsuccessful your entire application will be returned to you by regular post with a covering letter. You will not get an email notification from CIO.

I guess up until the payment charged would be applicable to us for PNP and the rest of the information is application to FSW

good stuff CiscoGuy. In your stuff, I am bit worried about the point "- That you have not left any blank fields". I have left the filed blank for Name in Native langauage. Please advise this will also countable???

Dear Seniors,

One questions for the Assets as per the form "imm0008_3e.pdf", pls help to understand...

Assets - We have an agriculture land on my father's name (For God's grace is fine n healthy) however to get the transfer of land on my name its a long process with lot of amount spending in India. Is there any way out that I can show the same Assets in Canadian dollars in my Application?

Another question regarding the Children, we have 2 children studying in 5 and 1 classes respectively. Do we need to take any certificate from the school to add the application? what should I mention in the form i.e. under Education/Occupation details? seconday or less with 5 and 1 years respectively. Pls suggest!

You are expected only to send(by courier) your photocopies degree/diploma certificates to WES....academic request form is not needed for this.
Your academic institution is to send your transcripts(or/and marksheets) to WES including the academic transcripts form because the officer that release it from your school has a portion to fill and sign off.

Dear Members,

I need your inputs and information to sort on which NOC category, I would be failing under. Requesting you to please take some time to understand my request and provided your feedback.

Firstly, I am a IT professional and hence I would need to decide on category - 2171 or 2174.
I am eliminating 2173 - as I am no architect or designer in programming. Also, I am eliminating 2172 - as I am no Data Base Administrator.

Looking at my roles and designation in past 8 years,

I firstly started as
a. Software Engineer - doing programming on Java, including requirement gathering, designing and implementing for bespoke applications.
then promoted to..

b. Technical Lead - Leading programmers team to implement Java programs for same above.
Later my designation changed to "Consultant"

c. Consultant - Here I started working on one of market product(Energy Risk Management product), doing majorly Testing involving gathering requirements on data setup, doing configurations, writing scripts, setting up process and designing execution flow logically and based on business.
Working on same market product, got promoted to..

d. Senior Consultant - doing same roles as above in addition to getting involved in leading Consultants team, reporting and managing task and as well involved in RFP's throwing information on Market product.

This was my state in previous company and left with "Senior Consultant" designation.

Joined another company with designation "Senior Associate QA"

Here I am involved in doing testing Functional, Regression and Integration testing for same Market product surrounded by few other market products and bespoke applications. I am leading teams and generating status reports.

At granularity, I do data configurations on product, write SQL to carry out current state analysis of product (good at SQL), writing analysis document, data flow diagrams on state, doing deep dive analysis to identify bottlenecks, design QA catalog having scenario and scripts, setting up QA framework, managing environments to deploy and test, setting up users and authorization, so on..
Apart from above, for test purpose, I still write code and scripting language to create automated tools...I do create analysis and design documents to implement automated test in product.

Given my current role and designation which I am doing since 2 years, which my offer letter states as "Senior Associate QA" I am not able to decide on whether I fall in 2171 or 2174.

I am yet to write my Reference letters which would include as I stated above, but I do not want to pick wrong category and while VO reviews my reference letter, I am afraid whether I had picked correct category on what I do.

Please help me with this.

Folks,
I am an Indian applicant and was about to send my FSW application. My mode of payment was CC from ICICI Bank. Yesterday, I received a new CC from ICICI Bank ( with new number, new expiry date and a PIN). This new CC is a replacement of old CC. In the accompanying letter, ICICI says that all CC that has been used for overseas payment are being replaced with a new CC as per RBI guidelines. My old CC would be valid for only 30 more days.

So, I would request all CC payment folks here (specially from ICICI Bank) to please check with their bank.

If your Job descriptions matches your intended/interested NOC by 60% to 80%,you are good to apply.
Your education background doesnt matter for FSW,its your Job descriptions and other factors like AGE,proof of english,years of experience and other factors that matters.
your academic degree will only be used to award you points for your education once you evaluate it and determine its equivalence to canadian degree.

I can apply under two categories NOC 1123 and NOC 2133 but since currently working in NOC 1123 that is why I wanted to apply in this category.
and also 2133 is expected to get filled much faster than 2133.

There is some crucial information, withour which application is deemed incomplete,
then there is info which shud have been provided, but not crucial in terms of the decision to be made.

From previous posts, i have learnt that CIC guys even make changes to the application if there is minor inconsistency where information has been provided at some other place (if the info is not crucial).

Name in native scipt is imp, but not crucial to the decision. SO relax, they might ask you to provide another form or write the name at later stage. Remember, in one of the forms it says "Leave the following blank, you may be asked to complete it at later stage infront of Canadian Authoroties"

Yes, leaving it blank may add few weeks to your visa stamping nothing more than that. Haven't heard of any case which was rejected because of this issue, and trust me reasonable # of applicants miss it.
