Sleepless night...so logged into ecas....however had a mild scare when the page said that this is only for our clients....in frenzy rentered all details.....and behold....second line added to my "in process" status...yay!!!!
"We started processing your file on 16th october"
this is great news!!!!

Also does anyone know how many "lines" come in ecas? Does this mean that my file is not transferred yet to NDVO?
Does anybody know how long now for mr approx?
NDVO is my visa office.

Since I am a 1st Oct applicant, I have a lot of waiting time allowing me the luxury of letting my mind wander. Hence, request you to please bear with me

Just had a couple of thoughts regarding the process from application receipt at CIC to PER email. Not sure if this is the correct sequence:

Step 1 - Application received at CIC in May-2014

Step 2 - CIC Team A performs completeness check on the May-2014 applications

Step 3 - CIC Team B updates the Cap status based on feedback on completeness check of May-2014 applications by CIC Team A

Step 4 - CIC Team C commences charging of Credit Cards/ Encashment of DD on the complete applications in May-2014

Step 5 - CIC Team D sends out PER emails to the May-2014 applicants

Step 6 - In the meantime, CIC Team A finishes the completeness check for the next month (Jun-2014) and sends out the complete list of applications in Jun-2014 to CIC Team B

Step 7 - CIC Team B does not update Cap status until CIC Team D has completed sending out the PER emails for May-2014 applicants

Step 8 - CIC Team C commences charging of Credit Cards/ Encashment of DD on the complete applications in Jun-2014

Step 9 - CIC Team D first finishes all PER emails for all the May-2014 applications

Step 10 - Once CIC Team D has sent out PER emails for all the May-2014 applications, it informs CIC Team B to update Cap status with the details of the complete applications in Jun-2014

Step 11 - CIC Team D starts sending out PER emails to Jun-2014 applicants

And because of this gap between the quick progress made in finishing the completeness check by Team A but stopped from updating the Cap status until CIC Team D finishes with the PER emails, the Cap status update is delayed

My dear brother Century,

Although I did not show PF as part of my settlement funds, I wanted to check with you about this. As per the advice from my immigration consultant, I was told that it is better not to show Provident Fund in the asset list due to the following reasons:

1. PF is not a liquid instrument or a readily-liquefiable instrument like Mutual Fund/ Stocks, etc
2. PF can only be withdrawn post resignation from current job. Once a person resigns from the job, he/she has to wait 60 days after which only he/she can submit the PF withdrawal request to the regional PF office. After scrutiny & approval of the withdrawal request, the money (post-tax, of course) reaches the requester's account after another 45-60 days

You are right. However even though it can be taken as a liquid amount because it has no locking period & I think CIC also taken the PF as a liquidity amount. One of my friend had shown the PF as a POF. He has already received the PR.

Received my PER on 21st October.
CC charged on 8th October.
I'm a June 23rd Applicant.
NOC:2173


I had to create a duplicate entry in the SS as i lost my previous edit link. Can someone pls remove the previous entry, the older one doesn't have the PER dates mentioned.

Also, I have a query here:

How much time i have before they ask for the PCC, should i get my PCC ready now or wait for few days as they require the PCC to be valid for atleast 3 months before submission. I already had a PCC issued in month of July, but i guess that will no longer be valid by the time they ask for it.

As per i have noticed, it takes around 45 days for the MR. and how many more days should it take so that i can get my PCC ready at the right time.

Your July pcc should be fine. Pcc validity is 1 year. The 3 month validity clause for pcc applies only for pcc submitted with initial application.

I am worried...received PER more than a month ago and still no signs of MR request. I had submitted my PCC along with my application. Will I have to do another round of the PCC verification? Please advise

Wait for some more time, i am also in the same boat....it should be there from Nov 1st week for all of us probably....

Good that you have PCC, ready.
But advise you to wait till you receive a request from VO.

Sending PCC now will not accelerate your application process, let your Consultant aware of this part.
