May be because it takes longer for Ottawa to verify your background information from Egypt? I think it makes sense. If from North America, the background investigation might take a shorter time since Ottawa has jurisdiction over applications from these regions.

Egypt applications in CPC-Ottawa...

I got my PER on 13th of Aug which till now is 62 days ago with no further progress!
I sent an email to CPC-Ottawa and they replied that my application processing time is with in "regulatory timeline"!

I did some analysis on the forum SS and found something very interesting, almost all (not all) of Egypt applications are suffering as me, other applications processed from CPC-Ottawa are processed much faster, as if CPC-Ottawa are keeping Egypt applications for late processing.....
Any one skeptical about this, can go and filter the SS by CPC-Ottawa and Cairo VO and see.

Any idea why this is happening?

CPC-Ottawa is not working.....they have not sent medical since along time for north america also. I guess they should start working on the cario application at least...

Strange are the ways of CIC..
But as you pointed out, there are many in the queque and there is no news yet with them as well.
The catchline of this forum - "no news is good news" so sit tight and enjoy the waiting time!!

Yes thats 16th June, NOC 2171, i dont know why he said 23rd June!
