Any of you try to submit the fees by AMEX or EBL VISA credit card? Is our Govt. permitting this payment by card this year? Last year I paid DD from SCB.

I used my AMEX for WES purpose and it worked. I have endorsed RFC part with 1000 USD in passport.

Please reply and suggest which one is easier and better?

First of all, CIC use POS machine and not online transaction system. There is no restriction on using POS machine for any transaction if the amount is approved in your passport.

DD from SCB is most secured. I used this.

EBL's Card Center fail to gurantee me that it will be successful - though I know that CIC use POS machine and not use online system - still didn't go for it as I don't feel comfortable.

AMEX should be better and you can go for it - but make sure you talk at the Call Center of AMEX.

I would recommend using DD else you might always feel anxious.

Hi All,

I have worked as programmer analyst for first 4 years and then as senior software engineer for 3.5 years and now as technical lead for one year.

And in my all roles I was a developer in Microsoft technologies.

Now, confusion is, my first designation programmer analyst falls in 2174 and next two in 2173, so under which NOC I should apply?

Your experience falls only under NOC 2174 as you are a developer/programmer.
NOC 2173 is only for test engineers.

Both NOCs are quite different from each other, make sure you are applying under correct NOC as it can be a reason for rejection going forward.

All developers should apply under category 2174 only.

Guys please help me on this.

As I need to mention about all my travels since my 18th Birthday, do I need to include information about my previous passport? I have travelled a lot mostly for tourism . Is there any gap to fill in any of the forms ?

Also once the documents are sent to the local visa office should I provide my previous passports also as some of my travel history belongs to it?

Buddy here is the job description for NOC 2173:

Software engineers and designers perform some or all of the following duties:
Collect and document users' requirements and develop logical and physical specifications
Research, evaluate and synthesize technical information to design, develop and test computer-based systems
Develop data, process and network models to optimize architecture and to evaluate the performance and reliability of designs
Plan, design and co-ordinate the development, installation, integration and operation of computer-based systems
Assess, test, troubleshoot, document, upgrade and develop maintenance procedures for operating systems, communications environments and applications software
May lead and co-ordinate teams of information systems professionals in the development of software and integrated information systems, process control software and other embedded software control systems.

Most of the duties are for software test engineers (80% to 90%), other discrepancies(15% to 20%) fall under analysis work or co-ordination work, which based on my view does not refer specific to developer/programmers activity as it is very generic activity which is performed by almost all IT individuals.

Therefore I believe 2173 is most suitable for test engineers and 2174 is more suited for developers/programmers.

BUTT, BUTT, BUTT....

You need to provide detailed Reference Letter (with Contract, pay stubs etc.) for all those Occupations (whether Primary or other NOC) for which you want to claim points. Unless the Assessing Officer is satisfied with your Ref Letters viz. Skill 0,A or B, FT , paid etc etc.. S'he will not give your points, irrespective of NOC.

So if Applicant 'A' provides Ref Letter for only Primary NOC Occupation, he will get points only for that Occ/ # of yrs. (subj to satisfaction of VO). Similarly, if Applicant 'B' provides Ref Letter for all his Occupations in last 10 yrs (incl the Prim./ Eligible Occ), he can expect to get points for all of those jobs/ total # of yrs. (subj to satisfaction of VO). Disclaimer: its my personal view, pls corroborate with experts

I would agree with this interpretation.
they consider total experience as long as it is in Skill Type 0, Skill Level A or B.
I have confirmed this with more than one consultant.

From the below Green Marked sentences, I interpret that, regardless of eligible NOC, if my occupations fall into Skill Type 0, Skill Level A or B, I will get points.

I did it using "FOXIT READER", as Adobe was showing encryption error... I was able to Edit/ Save the Travel Form on Foxit !

I had this problem and it was because I was using Adobe Reader to view the forms, which is a lesser version of Acrobat. To fill the forms properly you need a full copy of Acrobat. You can get a month-long free trial of Acrobat after which you would have to pay for the software. Check Abode's web site.

I am really confused about your post.

How can you say that it is only for Software Testers??

and Yes obviously Software Tester can apply because their title is enlisted

In last year FSW13 in is mentioned that
2174 Computer programmers and interactive media developers(Except Software Engineers)

Applicant who are designated Software Engineers couldnt apply. If people apply in 2174 with designation Software Engineer, there is 90% possibility to be rejected.

For description, it is true that the responsibilities is similar to 2174 occupations but anyone trying to apply to 2174 with designation Software Engineer, they have to change their designation as Software Programmer or Software Developer

Hi,

I have a 2.5 yrs daughter and I ad applied for her passport recently and it was still under process when i sent my application on 10th May. I guess there would be no issues regarding this. Why I feel there would be no problem is because of the following two significant reasons:

1. They give you an option of Yes or No for the Question where in they ask if you have your minor's passport or no in the form. Now when they have given this option of Yes or NO, that means they are ready to accept NO as an answer. As they can ask for this at the later stage.
2. In some customs/rituals in India Name is given to a child only after 2/2.5 yrs of age and before that you can not actually apply for passport.
