1. One copy of portfolio statement
2. From your agent, get balance certificate on certain that.

That makes complete sense - it is to avoid a situation where folks start sending more and more stuff over email and the expectation becomes now for CIC to take print-outs and attach to original file. Instead the ask is to send everything in hardcopy.

As it is they are doing a great favor by letting us add on stuff to original application.

so it's gurantee that they will add addtional documents to the file is i send later?

if yes i will stop returning my file

This is some really useful information, thanks for sharing. +1.

Of interest to me is this part:
This seems to suggest that they would accept a bank statement showing proof of having the funds, instead of actually carrying it in the form of bank draft, travellers' cheques or cash. Am I right to infer this from the above?

I HATE travelling with too much cash (Murphy's Law & all), so my thinking is to transfer any excess cash to my US Bank accounts (TD Bank US/BoA) and use the bank statements of these at the border as proof of funds, if and when this thing finally comes through and I am going to carry out the landing procedure. Is this thinking flawed?

Also, how would the port of entry officer in Canada seek to confirm these funds, since I wouldn't have them with me? Ask me to log into Online Banking and show him/her? LOL

Thats a very good observation indeed obryan20 and it had made me think as well. But i guess everybody does carry some money especially if they don't have friends or relatives to bank upon till they find a job. But yes, its good to know that this money can be transferred and removed from the bank , and not necessarily carry it around, in the form of traveller's check, which if lost can be used by anyone.

I have no experience with this though, i believe forum's where people have posted landing experience would be able to validate it further.

Are New Delhi guys on lazy mode today? Any MR today?

I have a doubt here. My wife passport is changed than the one i sent to CIC for processing. Now do i need to send them the new copy of the passport or should I wait till I here back from them requesting for passport????

Congrats and +1.

Communicate to them about the renewal of passport. Then Wait for their reply.

Sounds good but the immigration officer needs to be satisfied that you would be able to survive the initial hurdle. And if he seems not satisfied that you cannot support yourself then it becomes risky. It is said that you need to have sufficient funds to at least survive 6 months without any source of income.

Carrying around $5000 for a single person and then add another $2000 per person would be my approach. Well not all in cash. 80/20 rule for DD/Cash. It takes 15 days for an International DD to be cashed to your chequing account so the cash.

Hi,

Fantastic calculation. Can you please also let me know about 2171. My app reached on 3rd september.

Optimist,
Am in office now, but surely will try to answer you in the evening. Cheers.

I was talking about your share investment. I guess, it is publicly traded one.

Generally, people buy through security agent. That security agent regular update the portfolio status. Get that status.

Also ask your security agent to provide balance certificate.
