REPOSTING!!

Dear Forumites!!

I have received PER yesterday.... I would like to ask you all few queries:

1) My passport doesnot have my wife's name ...( As it was issued before marriage). Do I need to get that updated... I mean is it mandatory???

2) As per the trends when can we expect MR PCC & RPRF??

3) How to get PCC from commissioner of Police??

4) What amount of funds I need to carry to canada when I land?

Thanks in Advance for your valuable reply

Prateek

1. Your passport is not evidence of your marriage, it's a travel document only. It doesn't matter if your wife's name is in it or not.

2. Seems to be happening slowly so far.

3. CIC's web site has a page that tells you how to obtain PCCs from anywhere.

4. You don need to carry any but you must provide updated POf similar to what you did in your application.

Hi All,

Congratulations to all who are getting their PERs! :)

I am still in the application preparation stage, and I am waiting for my WES report. Today they informed me that they will complete assessment by 7-Oct. I am applying to 2171, and I am now scared since Oct-mid will be somewhat late to apply. I am going to ask them to send the report to my brother in Canada, that should save me around 5 days of courier time.

My question being:
1. Do you know if they have an expedited service for additional payment?
2. Do they sometimes finish the report faster than the committed date?

Thank you for your advice!

Hi Dude,

For me they processed it 2 weeks faster. Lets hope the same with you too. Transit time would be hardly 3-4 days. But, good to have it in your hand and then send it along with the file rather than sending it to a third party location. Please give it a thought. You might receive your report by 20-25th this month. In the mean time, complete the entire file and when WES arrives, just attached and send the file. That's how i have done.

Hope it helps.

Congrats Brother! :-* :-*

1) It's good to have but not mandatory. When asked please send the marriage certificate to prove the relationship.
2) Sorry no guess on this.
3) For PCC, should should go to Passport Seva Kendra. Pay fees at site and dnt take appointment. and it will be done in single day if your passport issued is same as passport office is same. Both from passport office and DCP office has same worth for CIC
4) Whatever you feel like but after some amount in cash, you have fill in the declaration form.

Hope it helps you.... 8) 8) 8) 8)

Lord Krishna bless us ALL!!

My expected date of finish is 3rd OCtober as per them .. But I have read on forum that they almost always finish it much before that time .. I am also applying for 2171 .. fingers crossed, I would also be able to send my app by last week of September

Bro you gotta take into account that NDVO also has the maximum number of applications too .... so 22 is a pretty small number if you look at it as a percentage of total apps with ndvo

Haha yes no hooters tonight, plus I have a busy day with some work meetings tomorrow

To add, CPC-O already issued 9 visas and 6 Passport requests :)

Overall, CPC-O is fastest but NDVO is competing to its best :)

Please, I have a question and need your help:

Should we send notarized copy of secondary school certificate along with the original ECA report, or it is enough to send copies of post-secondary (Bachelor's degree + Master) certificates and transcripts with the original ECA report. I assume if one completed a university level education, then there is no need for sending secondary school documents, Am I right?

Good news as CPC-O will be my VO if PER comes :)

I agree Grooby but I suppose every year it's the same situation for number of applications from India. But this year NDVO's speed (of issuing MRs) is worth noticing.

Cheers !!

Send original ECA
All secondary schooling
All graduation
All post grad certificates

Do not take any risk whatsoever

How about my observation here Grooby?? Is this worth considering?

Does it make sense that applicants in the SS from the month of May and June are mostly applicants from previous FSWP program and knows this forum for a long time resulting to a pretty good percentage vs. actual CIC count while worldwide applicants from July down to september are new ones (mostly has no idea about this forum and the SS) and thus the drastic decline in the SS applicants? will this mean that SS accuracy and reliabilty from July to September will be much much lower compared to the reliability of the May to June sample size?

Does my observation make sense?
