Sam,

Your chances are maximised with the Wife's app as a principal applicant as she is not part of the hot NOC.
NOC 1112 is the second hottest NOC, so no point applying through the husband. Also CIC rules state only one app for a family of husband and wife.

PCC is not mandatory to be sent with the initial app package. And yes, if you have lived in any country for a period of more than 6 months at a stretch, then you would have to get the PCC of that country.

Hope this helps! Good Luck!!

Thanks Saps

Hello everybody,

Looking into the latest cap update on the CIC website, and noticing how the experts in this forum are not sure whether the hot NOC's will close by mid June or by last July, I wonder how any of those experts feel when they take a look into the seriously misleading estimated dates in the "Apps by NOC Cap estimates" sheet of the SS.

Please correct this as soon as possible. Don't give people false hopes.

Hi Forum members,

Hope doing good.My wife is an assistant professor and we are applying under NOC 4011.It takes an other 1 week to submit our application to CIO.Can ull please suggest me on the foll
1.will we fit in the 1000 cap
2.we are from india.so do we need to submit notarized docs or simply photocopies
3.we are a family of 4 and currently only my wife will apply.so we are taking a dd of 550CAD.will this create a prob as only she is applying.

1. You should be within cap. Your NOC so far has had only 25 apps.
2. Read the Document checklist properly. Whereever they have mentioned Originals, attach Originals only. Whereever they have mentioned copies, attach copies. Notirising is required only for docs which are not in English/French and has been translatest or if you are attacching any of the docs with an affidavit.
3. Fees has to be paid for the whole family Principal Applicant (550), Spouse (550) + 2 dependent childern (150 + 150)

Note: As a family of four, the amount to show for settlement funds also increases. please go through the instruction guide thoroughly for more details before you send the application. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG7TOC.asp#pay-fee

All the best!!

We have been permanent residents from 2001 to 2009
Left Canada after that and decided to apply again in 2013
Our job Noc was in in fsw2014 and we are applying again now
So badically we lost and relinquished our pr status because we lived out of canafa for too long

Can anyone please help me understand the rules after obtaining a PR & NOT living in Canada:

1. After receiving PR Card: Does the applicant have to live in Canada for a min of 24 months within next 60 months?
2. If applicant does NOT live in Canada for this 24 month duration or lives for lesser, does it mean PR is cancelled?
3. Are there any effective methods to keep the PR active even w/o living & working for any employer in Canada?
Please note that this is vital for any applicants working in US on h1b visa.
4. In case, CIC cancels the PR of the applicant for any reason (not living/working there etc), does the applicant get an option to renew it without the whole stepbystep quota process?
Thanks all !

CIO-Sydney informs me today by email that my file has been transferred to CPC-O and now "In-Transit". :) :) :)
SS updated.

If you are the principal applicant and have stayed in Canada for 1 year you can select CPC- Ottawa office
The checklist mentions " If the visa office you have specified for processing your application is not the visa office responsible then provide proof that you have been lawfully admitted to a period of one year to the country for which u have specified visa office is responsible"

If you read clearly...you dont understand whether you have stayed for one year or whether one year still on permit or is it one year total. On safer side you can select NDVO. And as far as i understand, if you have permit for one year (overall) then you can select CPC-Ottawa Office. I dont think you need to stay here for one year. Just my thought.

As per my understanding, Whether u accompany her or not, u have to pay the fees for spouse and dependent children. PR is issued for the whole family.

However there is a line in the instruction guide quote "Processing fees must be paid only for the principal applicant and any accompanying family members." the word accompanying here could mean otherwise. i request seniors to confirm this.
