Guys I am recently applied for my spouse. CPC received my application on 8th july. On CIC website, I checked they are working on applications received on 11th july. But I didn't get any File no from them so far. this much delaying time is ok..

Guys, I can't believe it !!

I've just received my medical exams request. :D

It was so fast!! Only 25 days after I got PER.

:D :D :D :D

Can anyone please help me understand the rules after obtaining a PR & NOT living in Canada:

1. After receiving PR Card: Does the applicant have to live in Canada for a min of 24 months within next 60 months?
2. If applicant does NOT live in Canada for this 24 month duration or lives for lesser, does it mean PR is cancelled?
3. Are there any effective methods to keep the PR active even w/o living & working for any employer in Canada?
Please note that this is vital for any applicants working in US on h1b visa.
4. In case, CIC cancels the PR of the applicant for any reason (not living/working there etc), does the applicant get an option to renew it without the whole stepbystep quota process?
Thanks all !

A permanent resident has to live in canafda for 2 years within the last 5 years.
We did not so we were not meeting the residency requirements any more.
Wwe had no reasons like sick parents to try to get our status back and renew our pr cards
Thats why we had to apply for a travel documrnt
Our visa office did not issue one because we did not fullfill the residency requirements.
We did no appeal their decision within 2 month.
We are no longer permanent residents now and had to apply like everybody else
Doesnt matter that we lived in canada gor a long time and had a son born in calgary

So the answer is
1. Yes
2. No but the pr does not meet the residency requirements anymore
3. I believe working in another country but still working for a cabadian employer
4. Yes after the removel of the pr status you can re apply like anybody else

PS - BTW, I am not trying to dismiss your point, I just feel why be a burden on someone else. If I need something I'd download what is already there and will make my own changes in the downloaded copy. Why depend on someone else's private time for my needs, that's my thought. Whatever (complete or with a little error) someone has already given I thank them for it.

Good suggestion. But I have already done this. Two weeks ago, I said on this thread that 2174 would be closed by mid July, and I remember that you +1'ed someone saying that my calculations were not realistic :)

But this is not the point. The point is that I did already have my own calculations. Now what? Do you think it is wrong to ask the admins, after sincerely thanking them for their efforts, to correct what I think is a misleading model? What if someone becomes more relaxed about sending her application after looking into this sheet? Notice that this is exactly what happened to me, but I will never blame someone for this except myself.

Hey thanks for the msg
for answer 3 ,

we have required funds in our account.i am only asking about fees.initially only my wife will apply and we three will join her later. As per my understanding,we should pay only her fee only as we r not applying now.

can someone please suggest on this.

So if u r not accompanying her now then she only have to pay processing fee for herself.
As Processing fees must be paid only for the principal applicant and any accompanying family members.
I take it u meant that u will accompany her afte she get through and then she will sponsor u and the rest family

Just realized ..I did a typo in the Additional Family Members IMM 5406 , in place of birth column typed Paskistan instead of Pakistan. Is it a serious error

EGYPT Colleagues, :D
Any news where our files will be processed from this year? Ottawa or Cairo?

Were applications from Egypt last year processed in Ottawa?
Why? Isn't CPC-Ottawa for US and Canadian residents only?
