Hello all, How are you guys doing?

I am an old member of this forum, just visit here quite a few times and most of the times am a silent observer.

I landed here last year, got a job offer third day after that. I would like to give you all few tips and suggestions. My post might end up in the pile but who ever reads it please consider it a serious opinion from a Software tester who got a job in first week after landing.

Canada is a very nice country with peace of mind, quality living and awesome people. When I landed here I was having 5+ years of exp in automation testing. Employers here don't want any experience certificates, they just want that whatever you have written in your resume, you should really know that.
Do as many certifications as you can related to your field and gain as much practical experience as you can.
Add as many recruiters as possible on LinkedIn and get a premium account for some time.
While back in India get a Canadian number with forwarding on your Indian number from a provider like OneSuite.
Create your resume with a professional looking email address and Canadian phone number with a nice cover letter and start applying the jobs before landing. If you get a call, tell them you are coming very soon.
And regarding salary, am getting much more that I had expected, so your expertise and skills matter alot.
Dont come with an attitude that you will get a job easily, come with an attitude that you will study and prepare very hard that you will crack the first interview that comes your way.
Here the recruiters have very good networking and if you are rejected, many of them would know that in a second and will not contact you. So if you are going for an interview, be very well prepared.
You can PM me if any other detail is required and can add me on LinkedIn if anyone wants. My name is Arshdeep Brar.
Good Luck!!

Did you read the post thoroughly sir/mam...

He is talking about a fresher out of college...and we are here applying for FSW with 5-10 yrs of exp...

Also, if you would like to do the math do it on the one I gave you the example for more than 60K per year....or on the one more than 100 K per year
But your 5-10 years experience isn't in the Canadian market place is it, it's not as simple as comparing apples to apples.

Bear in mind you may not just walk into the same job and seniority you have now, you may need to work your way up the ladder again

Thanks!!
Because I printed my application on high-quality paper and included a lot of metallic paper clips, my package weighed 530 grams, and I had to upgrade to a 1-kg package. Hopefully, CIC would give me a couple of extra points for this :D

I am not denying that...but that's a different story than the one which was stated earlier "that people come here with high qualifications and high hopes and work as cleaners etc..."

Dear All,

I called CES to inquire about my application status. They told me that the last page of my transcript is only attested. What about the other pages ? Do you guys have any idea about this as when i went to HEC they attested my transcript in this way. Does this create any issue ?

Hi bros,

I have sent my application two days ago and I have one doubt. I am claiming points for a relative in Canada (My maternal uncle) **I still calculated 69 points without the 5 points for relative.. So claiming total 74 points including relative** I have submitted the following documents for relative:
-Copy of my uncle's Canadian passport
-Copy of my uncle's birth certificate
-Copy of my mum's birth certificate
-Copy of his tenancy contract
-Copy of his most recent tax notification from Canadian tax authority

In my birth certificate my mum's name is written as Hindia Maalim Ali while in my mum's BC, her name is written as Hindia Maalim Alio the same as with my uncle's BC. The only difference is the "O" and I have not submitted any affidavit or cover letter for that. Could that be a problem?
