Thanks, I think I had sent all the docs mentioned in guide but I was expecting my application back as DD was not encashed as per my bank and most of the 8th May applicant got PER. I tried to contact CIC on Phone but my call could not transfer. Don't know what to do now .

I remember reading somewhere in the CIC website that we should not contact them if we submitted the application within the last 2 to 3 months as this is the normal processing time. in my case, my application has been received by them exactly 3 months back, on 20th of May. Should i email them asking about the status? would it speed up things? in fact the right question is, will i get an answer from them?

On a related note, how can i check if my bank draft has been encashed? i obtained it from Emirates Islamic Bank in UAE. Will the bank be able to tell me over the phone?

Thanks dear for the information ... i know that it will take some time or may be some year 1-2 , to settle there and get good job.
But what ever it will be , will be better then what we have currently here. That's why we applied --" To get something better".

I'm sorry, new to the forum hence unaware of the forum-etiquette.
My IELTS is slated for 20th Sep., so I'm expecting results in the first week of Oct., lets say 3-4th Oct. (takes 13 days for the result as I read).

If I start now, I expect my ECA would probably be completed by that time (Oct. 3rd). would that be a good time to apply for 2173 (Software engineers and designers) occupation or am I already very late for this year? Of course don't want to waste time and money if it has no chance or even very bleak...

Saw that link on CIC's website which gives you a sense of how many applications have been accepted as of date. That says only 139 out of 1,000 however I have heard that this link is not reliable as the website doesn't get updated very well.

Pls advise. Appreciate it.

Did you write an email to CIC?
Or you may to call to post office in your country and check, if the package was received, because may be they couldn't contact you by different reasons.

Yes, if you ask query, you will get answer by 40 days.

About the news of DD encashment, it depends on Bank. Some banks are cooperative and some banks are adamant not to disclose (like Standard Chartered Bank in our country). Some bank even charge. You contact your bank.

My application file date is 18 Jul 2014. SO i have 2 months to go before i get per email.
Once my file is transferred to New Delhi office, they will ask me for PCC to be submitted in two months.
Since i have stayed more then 6 months in Japan, and to get Japan PCC, it takes more then 2 months.

So what should i do in that case?

Even if i apply for PCC in Japan embassy, they will ask me to provide the evidence that i really need the PCC which i dont have right now.

( I think CIO/new Delhi officers might be knowing that Japan takes more then 2 months to provide the PCC, so can we get any flexibility here?)

Finally, I was able to send my application and reached CIC today ( on my wife's Birthday )

Updated excel accordingly and happy to join the waiting club....

A lot of people must have been in the same scenario. The title needn't match exactly with the example titles, but the duties must. So you are fine.

And write a covering letter explaining why you need to apply now, reason being delay of your file and also tell them you'll update as soon as you get a request.

Another option is apply for visa for another country just "tourist" and they would ask for PCC as well and then you can apply. And by the time you receive that youll probably get the request.

At the end all i can say is to TRY!!!

Oye hello...don't demotivate anyone...

I don't know what your experience has been or will be...I have many friends in Canada who got a good job in 2 months as per their caliber...some even who were not managers here but deserved to be managers are managers now and one of friend who recently moved in May...got a job in June which was not for him though he did it to gain Canadian experience...and this Monday (18th Aug) he joined one of the best org's in the world as an ops manager....what will you say to that...this is the most recent and fresh example i can give...

It totally depends on your strategy and doing the right thing...the people who you are talking about tend to think a lot about cost savings and they will not hire consultants and recruiters which makes things possible...my friend hired 6 recruiters the week after he landed and in 3 weeks he landed with a decent job and started to earn...though he spent a few $$ for hiring them but that did the trick and this strategy was passed on to him from my other friends who are earning way higher than 50 - 60 K and the person i am talking about is also higher than 60K...you just need to relax and do the right thing...


Spend some money and be at the right place at the right time...!!! Now i might sound like a broken record...but it is what it is...!!! 8) 8) 8)

The problem is people come here and expect job in same category as u were working back home...Its not there immediately...But it comes...for sure...need a lot of patience...and courage to do part time and small jobs like retaurants, malls, gas stations etc...Depends purely on luck..

Canada is not USA...jobs here dont give u 70k or 80k or 100k...ofcourse people in USA and consultants there show fake experience. but here in canada there is nothing like fake experience... so people of 4-5 years experience get entry level jobs of 30k-50k...which sometime is bad...

Nothing is discouraging in canada. Life is good. people are good. just dont expect and u will do good...
