Hello Folks!!!

I have landed Edmonton,Canada....GOT my SIN,Health Card, and GDL ...Everything is fine but banking sucks!!!

I wanted to share my experience about banking in Canada...Please never open Scotia Bank Account from anywhere....they are big Cheater in all terms...

First I got confirmation Letter for remittance and once i made my remittance then the money revert back to my Indian Account- Due to negligence of Scotia Bank...

Secondly they have very limited ABM around the whole city...you will have to cross miles to get ABM...and if u use any other ABM then they will deduct 2 CAD per transaction...

Its my personal opinion and observation....Please avoid such banking...

God, everybody is talking about courier services, now I am really worried.

I am from Dubai, used First Flight courier service which uses DHL to send their overseas packages. They collected my package on 03 Aug and delivered on Friday 8 Aug at 10.35 am. (Total 5 days) Unfortunately, DHL do not have services (so they informed me) in NS, Sydney area, hence they use second party (but for me it was third party) and unable to give me the receiver's name. They (First Flight and DHL) vouch for the safe delivery at the right address but still I am concerned.

I really hope my package landed in a correct address.

No ECAS update still.....12th May applicant...What shall I do?? Cant find out if my DD has been encashed.....


HI there !!! i am also May12th appl. with DD sent as fees ..am also on the same boat like urs.. Kindly let me knw how to check ECAS update pls!!!

My hubby and I are in the midst of preparing the documents for submission.
Is it necessary now to provide a police report or it can be done later when asked?
Also, is a highschool (secondary) diploma necessary too?

You can submit pcc later when your file will transferred to your visa office

Go to ur local bank where you purchased the DD and they will help. If they don't, u may also confirm from the correspondent bank in Canada. You will see the bank n DD details on the copy of the DD.

You have to wait... I also have UCI from my tourist visa, I was charged the 26th of July (12th May applicant), and could enter and read "in process" just 2 days ago...

Well, Shushma, same happened with me also, Firstflight picked up documents from my place on 4th Aug, and delivered on 11th Aug. DHL was involved as an sub agent and god knows who else were involved till the delivery of the shipment. I'm also unaware who received my shipment on 11th Aug 13:43.

Hope for the best! And hope it must be with the right hands.

Thanks for your reply ashif. but still one question, I am the primary applicant then how can I claim points for my spouse's work experience as you said. Is it possible?

I think background declaration form has to be filled by both applicant and spouse...I am concerned about my husband's form...

U can claim spouse's work exp points only if he/she has work experience of canada and u can prove for the same
