First of all I would thank all the members who are supporting and sharing their views and experience during the course of Canada immigration process.

I am in process of filling my application under 2281-Computer network technicians to CIC.
I have a question regarding " the number of complete application counted towards 1000 sub-caps" . I understand that this is the applications revieved by CIC ie)approx may 15 applications.

If I file in a week what are the chances of my application. By then will 1000 caps will be reached?

We believe the cap page indicates PERs issued, which means up to 7th or possibly 8th May.

2281 is not that hot so you should be ok, but apply ASAP.

You should be present in Angola to get PCC.
in other words, I need to be a resident of Angola, but I have left there about 2 years ago.
I tried contacting the embassy in Dubai and they unformed me that they do not issue PCC and I should go to the local police station which I can not because getting into Angola is very hard without a sponsor's invitation.

I have just received an email from Bucharest VO that my application is transferred to Bucharest and they will continue processing there.

Please update my status. 8)

However, They are requesting PCC from each country where I lived more than 6 months. For me, I live in Angola for 3 years but I can NOT get PCC from there. How can I explain this to the VO? will this affect my application? I am really worried about that.

please I need your expertise in this.

His YOB is 1984. So should we mention his details from 2004 or from when he was 18 ? Kindly suggest.

My secondary NOC (2173) description is below
• Monitor the critical jobs and fix job abends
• Maintain/modify existing jobs written in VMS script or COBOL language as per the client requirements
• He is involved in all the Development activities like analyzing the designing the code, Coding and Testing
• To maintain the client database that holds the huge information about more than 70 million members
• He was involved in emergency production code move and fixes and Critical manual settings for production job run
• Solve tickets assigned which includes both Data Corrections and Analysis Tickets
• Acted as Module Lead for Claims and Encounters Application

As per CIC NOC description it is
•Collect and document users' requirements and develop logical and physical specifications
•Research, evaluate and synthesize technical information to design, develop and test computer-based systems
•Develop data, process and network models to optimize architecture and to evaluate the performance and reliability of designs
•Plan, design and co-ordinate the development, installation, integration and operation of computer-based systems
•Assess, test, troubleshoot, document, upgrade and develop maintenance procedures for operating systems, communications environments and applications software
•May lead and co-ordinate teams of information systems professionals in the development of software and integrated information systems, process control software and other embedded software control systems

I do not understand how much % do the description match as per CIC. Can you please assist me. If it is less matching I will try alternatives sending my wife's IELTS scorecard or modified (in detail) reference letter for this NOC (secondary NOC), even though my primary NOC is 2171. Please advise.

I think you should go for 2174

I applied under 2171 NOC having 2.5 years exp in that NOC and the reference letters are very good. Problem is with my secondary NOC which I have mentioned it as 2173 for which I have 3.5 years exp

My case Situation is like this

Work Ex in 0121 - 2.8 Years
Work Ex in 1114 - 4.2 Years

1. I have Submitted : Reference Letter stating my job duties, tenure worked, along with Salary slips/ Salary a/c Statement (Bank Statement showing salary credits) appointment letter/offer letters, promotion letters, other correspondence letters from company (transfer, appreciation letters etc.)

But any of the reference letters etc. do not state that I was a regular/ full time employee, nor my working hours are mentioned.

2. I and my spouse do not have birth certificates

In my case I have submitted an affidavit along with Matriculation certificate containing DOB and my Father's Name and a copy of passport in lieu of birth certificate.
For my spouse I have submitted same documents but her Matriculation certificate do not contain her Father's Name.

Please guide me what is the scope of my application, If there are less chances of acceptance then I should prepare for new file. Also guide me how much time will it take to get the application back if it is returned.

Dear Forum Members/Friends.


I have submitted my application to CIC on May 14-2014 under Noc 2171/1112 (either of two) as i have work experience under both the NOC codes.

Have been using VOIP to call CIC ,.Have called up atleast 10 to 15 times but they say they have no access to the CIC database.

I have sent a mail to CIC around 25 days back but got no response.
I tried calling Bank of Nova Scotia Gloabl Nostro Reconciliation desk to check if the Bank Draft is encashed ,did not get any response from them either.

Tried to check with HDFC bank Mumbai but did not get any response either.

Had my UCI number when my Work permit file was rejected in 2010.

MyFSW file returned back in 2013 as the quota was full.

Tried entering UCI number thru CIC website , it displays no results .

It has been over 92 days where in my application has submitted and getting anxious.

How can I get to know the status of my application .......It has been a long time & long wait .

Hey guys, God is indeed good all the time. Just got confirmation from my bank that my DD was encashed on 31st July. So awaiting PER and better yet, expecting AOR.

This sounds to me more like 2174 not 2173. And it still has to undergo some adjustments to match 2174.

2173 is about software engineering, architecture, and design, as opposed to 2174 which is more about implementation and coding. If your job description has no focus on the engineering discipline in 2173, then IMO you should not risk applying under it.

This sounds to me more like 2174 not 2173. And it still has to undergo some adjustments to match 2174.

I have applied under 2171 NOC for which I have very good reference letter and have 70 - 80% match. The other NOC which I have put on papers is 2173, but the description I have mentioned on reference letter is not matching much . Will that be a risk ?
If that is a risk, please advice how can I send my wife's IELTS scorecard and a modified reference letter (from manager with more detail) to CIC
