Hi All. I emailed noc-cnp@workingincanada.gc.ca asking them to help me determine the noc. Following is the reply i got.

The following is the response to your request for assistance (reference #XXXXXX ):

Based on the information that you have provided, the following National Occupational Classification (NOC) code may be appropriate for the occupation that you described. Please verify the link below to ensure that the education, main duties and employment requirements correspond to your occupation. You are in a better position to determine whether or not this NOC code reflects your job.

NOC Code: 1123 - Professional occupations in advertising, marketing and public relations
http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/ProfileQuickSearch.aspx?val=1&val1=1123

The National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes are determined by the Skill Type and Skill Level. The Skill Type represents the type of work performed as well as the general industry of employment, in order to easily indicate the segment of the world of work. The Skill Level represents the education required to perform the work. However, the NOC does recognize the fact that most jobs require multitasking or performing more than one duty. As a result there is a 51% rule that can be used as a guideline. Simply put, 51% of the job functions must be contained in the main duties of the selected NOC description.

The final decision for selecting the most appropriate National Occupational Classification (NOC) code is each individual's responsibility as you know your education, skills and abilities better than anyone else. However, the ultimate decision remains the responsibility of Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) as they are the only ones who have the authority to determine if the information provided meets their criteria.

Thank you,

Thank you,

thanks a lot for sharing the mail ..... till now we had assumed that you need to match atleast 70-80% of the noc duties ... but now it seems as if that more than 51% shall serve the purpose ....

Its recommended to have a 60-70% match with the Duties just so that you have that cushion. The VO may not interpret some duties quiet as same as the applicant which could lead to the total % of the matching duties falling below 51%.

Thanks.

This is for members who are still preparing their application.

We didn't get any letter from company letter head for job responsibilities. So we had provided self affidavit, reference letter from manager along with his Business card, reference letter from colleague and letter from HR that they don't provide the roles & responsibilities on company letter head. Along with this we attached the L1 petition copy and L1 Visa copies as a proof of onsite travel in last 5 years.

Are you sure, it will work ?
Have anyone got postivie reply, like Fee encash or PER. who applied with self affidavits ?

hi friends....this is regarding proof of funds.....

1. I am showing settlement funds in the form of FD. I have obtained this hefty money by selling some gold and i dont have proof of selling that gold (that gold was in my possession for a very long time..inherited that and sold that to a local merchant without any bills). So will CIC question me about wherabouts of this money as i can't proove that i have sold some gold. But i will keep that money till i get my visa ?

2. Can i liquidate my FD money when i get visa on my passport or do i need to keep it in the form of FD till i land there ?

@ ashif..century, oscar and all the seniors..help !

It all depend on cic whether they will ask for the source or not...but if they ask about the source you should be ready with the answer....

Nd yes you can liquidate your money coz u will b carrying money wid u

Hi, be careful as this position is not accurate, the 51% guideline is used by NOC and not CIC. CIC still reviews based on at least 80% match of duties. Don't forget this Federal Skilled Worker program, not Generalist program. Cheers :)

Yes, it worked for me

CC charged yesterday for application received on 12th May NOC 2173. Job responsibilities match was around 70-80%. All the information asked like working hours, job responsibilities and all titles during job was covered in affidavit, reference letters. I also created one experience letter which had the information on all the job titles and job responsibilities. Also attached the promotion letters as it had the salary and title information. Following were the documents attached for work experience. Be very careful with job responsibilities as it should match across all the letters. It need not be copy paste but ensure its consistent.

• Affidavit for Work Experience
• Mail from HR stating individual’s roles & responsibilities are not issued as bonafide certificate
• Experience Letter
• Salary Slips for last 3 months
• Appointment Letter
• Employment certificate
• Promotion Letters
• US L1 Visa Copies & petition copy
• Reference Letter from Supervisor & Colleague
• Income Tax return for last year
