Convenient & better option (most likely should work since you didn't stay 6 months plus; just wrote 6 months on form that's it) is to not send USA PCC and explain the situation when the VO asks for it specifically, if he / she does so. The worst that might happen is delay of your PR process by 35 or so days, and I don't think you are in a hurry to reach Canada anyways!
But if you want to take extra caution then you and your wife will need to get fingerprinting done and send FBI PCC request after getting your PER email.
I am leaning towards the first option, to not initiate anything yet. Your suggestion makes sense, at the max I loose 35 days, which is fine.
As you and future_canadian back me with the same suggestion, I feel that definately is the right thing to do.
