Dear All,

I am new to this forum and earlier applied for FSW 2013 under NOC (2174 - Computer Programmers..) however my application was returned due to cap being reached. Now I intend to apply for FSW2014, will be really appreciative of your help for clarifying the below queries,

1) Can the WES evaluation report (received on 9th May 2013) be used for applying for FSW 2014? Or do I need to apply again to WES to resend the report again to Immigration Canada for FSW 2014?

2) For FSW 2013, I applied under NOC 2174 (experience from years: 2002-2006), however afterwards I have worked as Sr.Project Manager and Business Analyst (years: 2006-2013) (falling under Information systems analysts and consultants (2171)).

Can I now apply under the new NOC 2171? Please note that I have mentioned both the experiences in FSW 2013 application so there is nothing different except that FSW2013 was applied with 2174 (experience : 2002-2006 being relevant under 1 year experience from last 10 years) and in FSW2014 I plan to apply under 2171 (experience : 2006 - 2013)?

3) I worked (on work visa) in UAE for 1 month for a bank (27th Nov 2013 - 27th Dec 2013). Does this need to be mentioned as excluded period in the Police Certificate from my home country?

To further elaborate, earlier Police Certificate (PC) submitted for FSW 2013 mentioned,

I have lived at XYZ place from 5th May 1998 - To Date and there is no criminal records against me,

Now for FSW 2014 should I mention in the PC Appliation and eventually (as per the pattern in my home country) this may look like,

5th May 1998 to 26th Nov 2013 - I lived in XYZ place (Home Country Address)
28th Dec 2013 to To Date - I lived in XYZ place (same Home Country Address)


4) Finally, as per point #3, I understand that with FSW 2014 application I need to provide experience letter, visa and ticket copies for the time spent in UAE for 1 month however I need not to provide Police Clearance Certificate (as this is required for places where you have spent more than 6 months). Is this understanding correct?

1. Yes ur WES is ok (5 yrs validity)

2. U can apply under 2171 no problem ..since u have that NOC's experience on later stage.

3. No need of UAE PCC ...since u have not lived over six months.

4. Everything is ok but No need of ticket copy.

It was very controversial things....Several times it was discussed earlier on different thread...

Since there is no problem having notarization, my opinion/priority is to send notarized docs to avoid any confusion/controversial things...

This is confusing, getting 20-30 pages noterized will take lot of time...

Are you sure, people got application returned with only photocopies ?

Yes ur IELTS is valid if ur application reaches to CIO before 30th Jun 14

and since ur point is 67 then u should not wait for more point coz it will not expedite ur process....Dont delay for that brother...

Thanks for advice plz give me a brief in step by step procedure for application. Beyond police clearance and ECA from WES (suggest if there is any other better assessment body) do I need any thing else time consuming matters for those I might get preparation in advance?

Yes different emplyers.

I have same kind of job under both. Current one not giving duties and responsibilities. But previous one gave.

Will it be fine

WES is the best so far....And most time consuming is WES and IELTS for new applicants...


Lacking of Other regular docs(birth cert/Marriage docs) is also imp...

Ur current empoyer's job reference letter is also required with duties if u want to claim point of this....

But if have enough points with past employment experience then u can go only with that..

hey guys hows it going.. am really confused and need ur help regarding fsw 2014..

well i have one year diploma frm australia in hospitality and after that i enrolled in 3 years bachelor degree in computer applications (correspondence ugc recognized university, india)... now the thing is am going to get the final marksheet etc.. next month.. but can i show work experience side by side in the IT sector while i was doing this bca degree.. also will i get points for bca correspondence coz thts the only way i think i will be make 67 points..

i have high proficiency in ielts in all of the modules..
do i need to get wes certificate for my bca degree..
also how do i calculate total points

why you want to wait untill june, a delay by every single day can cost you this golden opportunity to apply. So rush reschedule it for the earliest possible date and go for it cheers

My ielts exam is in June.So is there any chance to get the visa?Because as per the agent all the categories specially IT will be reach to the capacity in a month.I am a software tester and having 6 years of experience.Should i hire any agent for this or should i apply by my own?I heard good reviews about y axis.

I am confused.Please guide me. :'(

Apologies for the long post and thanks a lot for your prompt response. Really much appreciated.

Would specifically need further guidance on point #3, whether I should apply for the Police Certificate (from home country and not UAE) excluding 1 Month spent in UAE as mentioned in the original query. The only confusion is that I have also travelled on visit visas to multiple countries (for max 15 days) but haven't got these periods excluded in the Police Certificate (from home country) for FSW 2013.

I feel that I should show the work period excluded as this was with the intention of living in UAE (though didn't materialize as I came back due to family issues back home) and different from visits visas where these are temporary . Please let me know your opinion and advice.
