Will the letter showing "Stocks worth amount xxx" in my name, issued by a reknowned (national scale) securities company acceptable as POF? That letter also shows the time period of maintaining stocks. : Yes, it is acceptable. Also provide Portfolio Statement.

It is a good idea to research how much it costs to live in the place where you plan to settle in Canada.: Yes, good idea specially when you plan to land there.

i have heard that for "Student Visa" applications, Visa Offices were not accepting it.: Should not be correct.

Again worried. We Pakis are taken "negative" as our many brothers had PROMOTED us as a BAD BRAND..

Haven't seen anyone on the forum, but it is very clearly stated on CIC's POF site. Plus, it is readily convertible asset so should not be an issue at all. Just show a recent statement with current portfolio value. Most people might not have such a heavy portfolio of stocks so we haven't had anyone asking about it. But unlike house or land it is quite a liquid form of asset. Can be easily traded on exchange, lots of buyers and sellers there.

Hello Seniors

I am new to this forum....I have some doubts regarding PCC. Please excuse for that :-[
I had gone through lot of posts in this forum, however not quite sure.....until now. :-\

Background:
My passport is from CITY1 (Permanent Residence-Parents Residing) and for that last 10 years.....I studied in CITY 2 for 4 years, worked in CITY 3 for 4 years and now in CITY 4 (Present Address -Me and Spouse Residing) for more than 3 years now.......

Query:
(1) I have already received PCC from Passport Office (CITY 1) Permanent Residence, since this address is in my Passport.
Do I still have to obtain PCC from CITY2, CITY3, CITY4 ??

(2) If YES, we need to obtain PCC from all cities CITY1,CITY2,CITY3,CITY4, then how ??
In the passportindia OnlineApp link, where PCC is initiated, if we mention CITY4 address as present address and place of issue of passport as CITY1 address, it does not accept and mentions, "Your present address is not under the jurisdiction of the passport office registered for your account".
How should I initiate such process ?

(3) In some posts, I read, PCC is country specific and not state or city specific.
Which means PCC from my permanent residence CITY1 stands valid. Require Confirmation.

(4) Form IMM 5669 - Background Declaration, Point No 12. Addresses, asks to list down all addresses that you have lived from the last 10 years. Are these addresses mentioned here would be used to match with the PCC documents I provide ?

u need to get pcc from the city where u r staying currently .....
when u submit yr application for pcc they will ask you for ur id details and the police will run back ground verification based on the details that you have provided and will issue you the pcc as required.

ur last 10 years stay is required by them just for verifation of ur studies and job whether you have mentioned it correctly or not

Sure.. And how will spouse enter Canada later on (considering PR takes long time)...Either on visitor or as a student. At that time spouse needs to prove he or she will return to home country after visiting or completion of course. Since partner is still in canada proving that is impossible. Just trying to make understand that one may apply for spousal PR now itself. later on its complicated.

Criteria for student visa are different from PR. For Student Visa, applicant has to show intention that s/he will return and need to show enough funding - both are a bit subjective and so VO Officer interprets according to his/her judgment. For PR, most of the criteria are objective including POF and VO granted the intention to stay Canada forever.

About stock investment, CIO itself is telling it is valid.

What I understood: Previous supervisor left. New supervisor just joined in her department. As she is new supervisor, she has not worked under her.

I could be wrong. I read it as, she is no longer with that company, and never worked with that supervisor. But if I'm wrong, then I withdraw my comments about this situation.

Hi folks,

I received request to submit FBI report from VO recently. It appears that getting FBI report takes more time and I may not meet the deadline to submit. Can I request visa office to extend time to allow for submission of PCC??
