Dear Experts,

Need to confirm whether ETL(extract, transform and load) development is also considered for NOC 2174. I have worked on the ETL tool Informatica

Would appreciate a response,

Captain

Please, experienced forum members,
I need your advice regarding a special case of my fsw application,
Actually, I want to apply under NOC 4011 '' University Lecturer". my faculty gave me a detalied experience letter including most of the required information that is relevant to the duties of that NOC. However, an important part of my experience came while I was doing my PhD research in the same faculty, and that is normal in my country since all PhD researchers have to supervise undergraduates and to perform the job of a lecturer on a part time basis. As a result, my work contract mentioned my title as "a resident in oral medicine speciality, or a specialist dentist", and not stating clearly that I worked as a lecturer. Anyway, I have other work contracts mentioning my job as a lecturer, but those do not sum up to a total of one year.
I fear if I submit all work contracts with the reference letters, CIC officer my consider them as a contradictory evidence of my work experience and dismiss them all out of hand.
Can I send refrence letter without work contract?
Any enlightment on this issue will be highly appreciated.
Best regrds
As a rule, I believe that if you have any doubt at all about whether your documents will be interpreted in your favor by CIC, you should send as much supporting documentation that will be in your favor as possible.

However, the reference letter from your employer(s) will carry the most weight. Is it possible for you to get a new letter from your employer, which emphasizes the lecturing nature of your job? (So long as it remains accurate.)

It is fine to count experience you earned while you were a PhD candidate and still studying part-time, so long as you were not studying full-time. Work experience gained during full-time studies doesn't count. If you were only working part-time during your candidacy, you will need to adjust it to full-time equivalent to see how many points it will be worth, and make sure that CIC understands how much equivalency it is. And you still need to demonstrate the nature and length of this experience to CIC.

Also, having said the above, the one year of work experience in your primary NOC must have been FULL-TIME and CONTINUOUS. So you need to ensure that you have this even though you can count experience gained while working part-time.

Finally, if you are a dentist or doctor, have you examined the possibility of applying in another NOC? Such as 3111 or 3112?

work contract is very important they might have Background checks.....without appointment letters they might reject your application.
Where do you get this? The employer reference letter should be sufficient if it provides all the info requested by CIC. Of course employment contracts and other supporting documents may be provided and may be of benefit, but nowhere does CIC say that a work contract must be provided.

I think you should choose to withdraw your fsw then go with your pnp to the federal stage or just let your federal application go and just keep your provincial nomination on hand for backup.

This is just an opinion. Any other seniors take on this will be appreciated.
I would only withdraw one AFTER PR has been granted by the other.

Hey guys,

I just checked our ECAS status, and it has changed to "We began processing your application on XXXXX". Before this, it was on the "We have received your application for permanent residence".

We've applied under NOC 2132 and since we're in the US, its being processed by Ottawa CPC.

How many days after the "begun processing" status change should I expect to receive the medical request ?

Good luck to everyone! Thanks!

Hi Forumities,

Just wanted to share my experience with all....
Yesterday, I happened to meet a immigration consultant, he was not knowing that I have already applied for the Canada PR...
I asked for info on the PR...
Consultant: U have not yet signed up with us how can I give info to u...
Me: I don't want any info I just trying to know the benefits that PR will give me...
Consultant: let me not be mean to u since we are talking face to face..

then he started asking me the education, Ielts etc...just to calculate the points and I kept on being as if I donno anything....He then says nobody will give u this info free of cost (and yes in India u find many agents charge u around 1500 Rs that is around $30 saying that they are checking our eligibility through a team of experts!!)....then the guy shows me the CIC page where there is updated info of NOC being filled and he says " I usually don't show this to anybody" and he says these many applications are received by them till date (12/07/2014), when v forumites know that the applications updated are of around 8th may....at last there was a big bomb that he threw on me saying the total cost is 300000 RS (around $6000) spread across 5 installments.....couple of months ago I was in dilemma weather to sign up with agent...but after following the forum became informed of the process and confidence grew in me to apply independently...no harm in appointing agents but one must be informed about the things so that the agents don't take u for a ride, and this forum is doing a excellent job about sharing info

Bottom line : this forum has been doing a very good job of keeping the applicants and newbies informed about the procedure along with every minute details....really hats off to all the forumities...specially the senior members... :) :) :)
I know several good immigration attorneys in Canada, but I have never heard of a single good immigration "consultant." It seems the only thing they are consulting are their wallets, to see how much money you have wasted by dumping it directly in there.

Hello,

This is with regard to ECA from WES I sent my transcripts to WES for evaluation back in May. They came back to me after 3 weeks to resend the transcripts without mentioning any reason and the status was changed to "Waiting for Required Documents"

I again sent them the transcripts attested by Controller of Examination . received by them on July 1st/2nd. Till now there has not been any update or change in the status what so ever. and still shows "Waiting for Required Documents".

Kindly suggest what could be wrong here, have they opened my new envelop yet ?

and how much time should I need to wait for the change in the status ..

I am worried now .

Thanks for replying.

Good suggestion buddy hier an Canadian Lawyer they will charge more but they remain realistic and suggest you more better then Indian Immigration consultants these are my personal views only :)
Lawyers also have a legal obligation to do their best for you, be honest and timely and accurate otherwise you have a malpractice suit against them... consultants are bound by no ethical code whatsoever as far as I know, though they may no longer be on the approved list, they can continue being shady and greedy with no consequences whatsoever.

Hello everyone,

Just a few questions that I would like to ask. Would appreciate if someone could answer them for me please.
1. I can't seem to access the spreadsheet, if anyone can tell me how many dd/ cc have been charged so far for NOC 4011
2. My passport will expire in Nov this year. Can I send a copy of the current passport with the application now, or do I need to get a new one made first for the application packet?
3. Confirm the VO of Pakistan, London right ? What's their processing time this year?
4. Are personal or telephonic inteviews conducted? Cuz a friend of mine got exempted. They never had any interview. How did they manage to do that? What could have gotten them to not go through the interview session?

Would appreciate your answers :)
1. 4011 is a cold NOC so far, don't worry about the cap.
2. Yes, you just need to update your visa office of your new passport once your file is transferred and you have the new one.
3. Not sure the processing time, it's a bit unpredictable, but London is slow. Use this tool to determine which VO: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/apply-where.asp
4. Interviews are fewer nowadays. But they do happen, especially if the reviewing officer has any doubts about your documents or you raise any red flags. The best way to avoid an interview is to provide complete and accurate information and hope that you don't raise any red flags.

There is a button for you to add dependants to your generic form. You should have 3 dependants all in your generic form, that being your wife and 2 kids. All must be included in your generic form.

Check the list of duties for 2174. If your duties match at least 50%, preferably more, of the duties listed under that NOC then you qualify. Of course you must be able to demonstrate via employer reference letter.

Clearly not. You followed the instructions. Why worry?
