Is there a way to ask your bank to cancel the DD that was made as payment? That would just send your FSW package back to you. Can't think of any harm in doing this (if it is possible), plus also email at their CIO address (may be also fax them your withdrawal request).

Well if you are in Delhi, India it is issued the same day within a couple of hours...you just have to fill the form online and walkin to the PSK. there is no need to book an appointment for PCC for some of the PSK's (like Shalimar bagh). you just go there strand in queue and then they call you on 3 counters and the last one issues you the PCC.

From where you are dear...i got my pcc on 4th day after applying.... I dnt think so it is time consuming in INDIA.... But it has been already cleared by our forum member thta there is no time bound issue to submit pcc....so there is no need to worry....

Hello members

I am new member of this forum. My husband is principal applicant. I am helping him to applying for Canada FSW as he is busy. Application sent on 25th July. Received on 3rd July as per DHL but no one signature as receiver CIC . Is that happen to us only?

After getting current bank certificate of settlement, we did FD for 3 months. Is that a wrong decision? Can we show the FD when CIC ask or money should be liquid on bank account. Can we withdraw or deposit money on that bank account or cant transact at all?

Anyone can help please.

I believe there are a few other cases without signature. Anyway, if DHL confirms it was delivered, don't worry.

FD is no problem. You can withdraw it at any time. It won't make a difference for settlement funds.

A: A Demand Draft can be cancelled by the person who took it provided it has not yet been encashed. You need to visit the bank branch where you took the draft and submit a request in writing, asking them to cancel the draft and refund the money. The bank will accept the request if the draft isn't encashed yet and then cancel the draft and refund the money. The bank may or may not charge you a fee for doing so.

PS - BTW, Congrats on NS PNP nomination!!! Also after getting the DD cancelled from bank, do mention that to CIC in your e-mail and fax that you have got the bank draft cancelled since you are withdrawing your application and request them to send the package back. Good luck!!!

Hi. I am canadian citizen now. I assume question is of how to handle of medical and passport request while being outside your home country. Every one have separate circumstances. That's what I did. My processing center was Delhi india. While I was on work permit in UK. I got medical and pp request at my current address in UK. I did medicals in London. Then using DHL send my family passports to chc Delhi. They stamp it with one time entry pr visa and send to my parents india address. Meanwhile I send authorisation letter to my father. He take all passports and authorisation letter and travel UK. From UK I travel to canada to enter and get PR status. Best of luck

Even though there is no need to get appointment for pcc, you will get it on the same day if your present address and the address in passport is same, if you are living in other state it will take 6 to 10 days...

I got Nomination from Nova Scotia for PNP visa today and i have applied for FSW 2014 (payment mode DD) and file reached 9th june ...


i want to withdraw my application what is the procedure ?

Phone them to know the procedure to cancel. there must be a way what was your application date for Nova Scotia PNP?

Immigration Processing Times Appear to be Decreasing

Over the past few years, the Government of Canada has expressed its intention to bring immigration processing times down to approximately 12 months or less. Recently, it appears as though the government has begun to deliver on its promises.

According to Attorney David Cohen, of the Canadian immigration law firm Campbell Cohen, some clients who applied to the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) program in summer 2013 are now receiving passport requests. A passport request is the final step in the process of obtaining Canadian Permanent Residency.
“It is exciting to see that processing times are beginning to decrease to under a year,” said Attorney Cohen. “Shortening the timeframe for application processing means that Canada gets the workers it needs in a timely fashion, and applicants are assessed within a reasonable timeframe that allows them to plan for their futures.”
