The question is if in case fds are given.. Can they still ask for a bank statement?

If you are showing the full amount (i.e 3 members means 18097 CAD) by fd then its good to go, sometime they will ask from where you got this bulk amount for that you need to answer....

yes of course...they want to make sure that you are not manipulating and fooling them...they just want to make sure that the funds are yours and not borrowed

yes true but when you go the bank they will still issue you a statement stating that the FD is with us for XXX amount and it has been there for YYY months and the maturity of this FD is ZZZ

Having an FD in a bank doesn't mean that you have a bank account in the same bank.

Well if you are in Delhi, India it is issued the same day within a couple of hours...you just have to fill the form online and walkin to the PSK. there is no need to book an appointment for PCC for some of the PSK's (like Shalimar bagh). you just go there strand in queue and then they call you on 3 counters and the last one issues you the PCC.

It depend upon the mood of visa officer....
If your fdrs are old then it may possible the visa officer may not ask for bank statements....
But if fdr is recently made then visa officer may request.....
But i have seen posts in the forum that visa officer is asking for 6 months old statement....

If you are showing full amount as FD then you need to send copy of FD bond paper, if not above case you need to send Copy of FD Bond paper and the rest amount in saving account which in original bank statement

Yes, they can but should not. If I have shown FD as my only settlement fund, they should ask for only FD's status.

Totally depends on the visa office. If its CPC-Ottawa, I would say about a month later. No way of predicting for other VOs since none of them have reached that stage yet.

1. How many months should the bank statement consist of?
2. CIC website states
"You do not have to show that you have these funds if:

you have a valid offer of arranged employment in Canada AND
you are currently working or authorized to work in Canada."

Does it mean I need a job offer AND a work visa? Or a job offer is sufficient if I cannot provide the bank statement?

I am sure these questions have been answered but its difficult to browse the whole thread.

Based on my observation, VO has asked for 6 months statement along with explanation of major in/out flow from all those who have provided Fixed Deposit. The exceptions could be for F.D (more than 1 yr tenor) made long before submission of application.

So, u have to keep funds after submission of application.

Net Net, V.O is little concerned abt how u arranged funds before submission but mainly with what u do after submission and if u wud b able to bring the funds after visa stamping.

Don't forget that u have to take funds along at the time of landing. They specifically ask IN WHAT FORM YOU HAVE BROUGHT THE FUNDS, not sure if landing can be denied in case of failure.

This means if you are applying through the "arranged employment scheme" with a LMO-approved job offer. No need for a work visa already.
