Port of entry is for ur previous visits, its a fact and you can not chose. Yes, intended city/town can be different then the place u last entered Canada. Port of entry is usually a border city (entry by land), a sea port, or an international airport but all other Canadian cities also need immigrants.

Yes, u can not check the status unless u have UCI number from ur previous application for immigration/visit/work visa.

Hello Guys,

Will it matter if the FD's iv shown for POF is broken and money transferred back into my account. I am planning to take up some better FD's. Will it effect my application at this stage? When can i update them with the details of new FD's.

Write - "NOT APPLICABLE" on the family name part of the generic form...
No need to write with pen....

I am afraid if you write NO APPLICABLE, the barcode will be generated as the family name is NOT APPLICABLE (as a name). Therefore, CIC system will show these words as your family name. I doubt that a human being is entering data manually for generic form. All the data is taken electronically from the generated barcodes.

Just wanted to caution you.

That's exactly what I meant. The family name will be registered as NA or NOT APPLICABLE which is not desired. It should be blank.
I don't know the solution. But I just wanted to highlight to the member that this issue might happen.

My consultant have send the application to CIC by mentioned following address. I am applying under FSW NOC 2281. but he mentioned PHD Category. It has been received by David on 25th june , Does it effects anything

Just for clarity of everyone, a DD with no expiry date here only means there was no expiry date "printed" on the DD which is typical of HDFC issued DDs in India that are valid for a period of 6 months. Yes these DDs have an expiry date of 6 months, as confirmed by HDFC guys dealing with foreign currency DDs.

@Oscar: Are you sure regarding 6 month validity of HDFC DD, as my bank representative told me that it was only valid for 3 months as per RBI regulation. Even my DD doesn't have a expiry date on it.

You have to type your given name in Family name if you do not use surname and NA in given name field. Please refer to quote from CIC website:
