It came to my knowledge that DD from India are valid for 3 months as per my knowledge.
But CIC expects the DD to be valid for 5 months.

how are people from India handling this problem ?

I didn't gave any affidavit or cover letter. I put sticky note on 10th marksheets stating 'birth date proof for applicant/spouse'

Hi All, I'm a newbee here and I hope some one finds the time to provide useful advice on this forum.

I sent my application (NOC:2174), my application was received on 11-06. The main issue with my application is that I sent in an IELTS result with a typo in document. I requested a correction immediately but I lost patience in waiting for the corrected copy so I had to send the copy in my possession since my NOC may soon be full and I was assuming that CIC will be able to verify IELTS results.

The corrected copy has arrived now, does any one know if I can send the corrected copy, providing my name and date of birth as attachment. Do you think they'll attach the corrected copy to my application?

What is the best approach towards this type of problem? please advice.
What is the nature of the typo?

Is there any one in fsw 2014 who applied without birth certificate and used 10th class marksheet or affidavit as a substitute for birth certificate and got PER OR CC CHARGED ??
Yes I did. But not marksheet but the 10 certificate

Thank you for the speedy reply. Should have mentioned it sorry, the gender was wrong.
Quite frankly, there is no evidence that CIC will match a previous document with the new one for new applicants. You could send it if you already have a UCI #. But it does not seem like a critical situation to me. The report will have your full name, passport number, and photo that should match with the rest of your application. I think you should just wait it out and see what happens. Also, try emailing and calling them to see what they suggest.

Superb, +2 (one now and one after a week). If possible, kindly add # to the chart, such that # for respective portion appears on it (I don't know technical jargon but i think its called data label)

Hi everyone :)

Some time ago, Spicysank has posted rather useful statistics on number of applications by received date and current status.

I thought, it would be helpful to implement it in the spreadsheet as a chart which is updated automatically:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11gAbKSoDoOr1s8_raB1qwz0i-ZH0NyNWhhn18O6kHwQ/edit#gid=423739464
(if it opens the HTML view, the chart is still there, just go to the "Charts" sheet).

There's also a numeric representation, just in case:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11gAbKSoDoOr1s8_raB1qwz0i-ZH0NyNWhhn18O6kHwQ/edit#gid=752719781

Enjoy :)

Update: Moved it to the "Charts" sheet for consistency and to reduce number of sheets.

@jitendrj

Why don't u try DD this time? or ask ur consultant (if in Canada) to use his CC. this way u need not to send new payment form. He can print & sign himself.

All the best!!!

Sorry to hear that! If I may ask, have you thought about payment by DD? It's disaster proof (has minimum risks)! Good luck this time around!

Thanks once more, there was no cover letter. Is there a way out?
If you had added cover letter, there would have been no issue. Still, I believe, it is no issue. Namaste efficiently described it. And I guess, looking at your picture, you won't look like the opposite gender. Furthermore, all the offices of CIC has direct access into IETLS test results. They can verify the authenticity of your documents.

Note that, IELTS is only used for English proficiency measurement and not to see your gender. CIC officers must have common sense and will promptly pick the error. If I were you, I would not do anything at this stage with CIC.

Just another query, is everything same for your new IELTS copy with the old one except gender?

Hello,

I checked the status of my application in On-Line Service site of CIC using my old UCI number and here's what I found out.
"We received your application for permanent residence on May 5, 2014." I have not received a PER yet.

My PR application status is "IN PROCESS" it says there.

The following tables will help you understand the status of your application.
1) Application for Permanent Residence Outside Canada
2) Application for Permanent Residence in Canada
3) Application for Permanent Residence - Federal skilled Worker submitted to Sydney, Nova Scotia

I clicked #3 (Application for Permanent Residence - Federal skilled Worker submitted to Sydney, Nova Scotia)

This diagram explains each step in the application process.

1. APPLICATION RECEIVED
Application Received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC)
We have received your application. After checking for completeness, a file has been created and the information from the application form was entered.

2. Centralized Intake Office Sydney (CIO-S) ELIGIBILITY REVIEW COMPLETE
Centralized Intake Office Sydney (CIO-S) - Eligibility Review Complete
The review at the CIO-Sydney has been completed. A letter with additional information has been mailed.

3. RECEIVED BY VISA OFFICE
Received by Visa Office
The application and documents have been received by the visa office.

4. VISA OFFICE ELIGIBILITY REVIEW COMPLETE
Visa Office - Eligibility Review Complete
The review of the application and supporting documents has been completed at the visa office. A letter with additional information has been mailed.

5. WITHDRAWN
Application Withdrawn
We withdrew your application and your file has been closed.

6. IN PROCESS
In Process
Based on review of your complete application package, it has been determined that your application is eligible for processing.
Processing has begun.

7. DECISION MADE
(A decision has been made at this point.)

Medical Results Received by CIC
We have received your medical results. We will contact you only if additional tests are needed.

Approval Status Determined
Your application will be either approved or rejected. We will inform you of the decision in writing.

Permanent Residence Status Determined
If your application is approved, we will send you your permanent resident documentation and a letter saying what we need to finalize your permanent residence.

8. COMPLETE
(This is the last step in the processing of your application.)

Applicant Arrives in Canada and is Granted Permanent Residence
You will need to meet with an Immigration Officer who will verify your documents and grant you permanent residence if all is in order.

Does my status mean that I would likely receive a PER? I checked the copy of the IMM0008 form that I submitted to CIC and I forgot to include my email address there. If my app is IN PROCESS, its already in STEP6 and MR would likely be next just like "cse70938", hahaha.. I hope so..

Anyone here on the same boat?

I just heard today that one applicant from our forum got rejected due to CC problem.. that means getting rejected package would not be taking long time, even if by regular mail.. otherwise he would have no news so far.. am I right?
How did the person came to know that app is rejected due to CC problem from CIC. This is not a possibility, it will take 2 months for the packet to be received back through snail mail to countries in south east Asia.
From the CC company though one will know, if such a transaction was attempted and it was rejected.

Lot of people have CC issues last year for Indian applicants because of RBI rules etc, better to talk to your CC company and ask them to make a note of a possible CC charge from FSW sydney canada.
