Pls explain... is there restriction on pregnant women doing the medicals

A pregnant woman is not ideally to do chest xray unless it is deemed extremely necessary and the risk to the child would have to be well weighed and explained to the mother.

Can I add that I'm in the same situation with the likes of tbaba, Guyman1234, highlyfavoured1. Meds completed since 4th Aug. but no word from AVO nor update on ecas to reflect same. In the mean time, let's just stay hopeful and continue researching other things that can make our settlement in canada as seamless as possible.

Good morning Seniors,

Thanks for all your openness and willingness to assist all with one concerns or the other. I Pray it will end in praise for everyone of us Amen.

I have been in a bit of dilemma here, kindly help clear my doubts, I received MR on July 30th and did my medicals August 6. over a month ago now, but on ecas no TLU has been received or mail to confirm they received my MR. I called Qlife they confirmed it has been sent to them. im just wondering if this is normal or if I need to contact AVO, as I didn't receive any confirmation mail from them for receipt. I just thought they will contact me for PPR but after waiting over a period of 1month I'm beginning to worry a bit about this.

Your candid advice will be highly appreciated.

Thanking you in anticipation for your valued response. Godbless

I am of a different opinion.do what your agent asks for because it is not difficult.we are always looking for short cuts.your soouse only needs to score 4 in IELTS and then show your agent proof that you have started processing her WES evaluation except your wife attended school that WES doesnt take then it will be a long journey but no need to worry use this time frame and build up your POF for two.

Congratulations on your wedding. You only need IELTS of spouse to boost your point to a minimum of 67. WES is only required for the principal applicant. Since you have already crossed the bridge of MR, those documents are no more required except if you don't mind. You can access the requirements from the CIC website to reconfirm it.

No doctor at the test clinic will take the risk of advising you to have an x-ray done during your pregnancy. The decision to have the CXR is solely the mothers', even the husband can't force the wife to have one if she has doubts, while others have done it and had no side effects to the baby, no two pregnancies are alike. But for the sake of concluding your MR, people have confirmed that with new technologies, the radiation exposure are said to be less than you get everyday you walk in the sun, moreover the xray to be carried out is thorasic (Chest) and not abdominal. Even at that, the radiologist if told on time, will usually give you a lead shield to wrap around your abdomen to prevent the womb/baby from scattered rays.

In all it is still best talk to your ObGyn first before concluding on what to do, but for research sake, see the links below:

Ayoka did her medical test in February and gave birth in July so I'm sure she would have done the test while preggy. You can PM her but i'm sure she will drop in a word if she sees the subject matter on the thread although, it's been a while since she dropped a line here.
