Hey Chief,

Thanks for making out some time to reply, I appreciate a lot. I just want to tell you that it has been like a roller coaster this journey you know.
I first applied in 2008 when I came over to the UK for my masters but then I had no clue on how to make a quality and substantial application so it was rejected and application fee was returned.

In 2011, Cap was reached by the time my application got to central Intake office in Sydney.
Then there was a pause on the system and it reopened in 2013, my application got in, I had PER but was called for an interview in 2013 Feb by LVO but in Sept same year, our dream came to an end.
So I put in my wife's as she is also very qualified for NOC 1112 in May 2014 and as luck and Mercy of God would have it, we have done medicals and paid for PPRF and sent updated schedule A as requested by AVO official.

Please chief I need your candid advise, opinion and input as an experienced member.

My wife's passport and mine are with the Home Office in the UK and my wife's has expired in December last year, my will expire this August. Our appeal hearing has been heard but we haven't got a decision yet on it. Now in the UK, they do not return passports back if you ask them, the only thing they do is if you book your flight to go back to Nigeria, they will bring it at the airport on the date and time of departure. it is called a supervised departure.

So we are ready to leave the UK now for Naija but we need to plan, we need to get the passport request from AVO to be assured it is all settled and confirmed. we don't know how long it might take home office to return it. so we will need to renew our passports before sending them to AVO. Also my wife needs to do a change of name from her maiden to mine so that it will reflect in the new passport.

We are thinking of asking AVO when they request to give us a bit of time to be able to sort all of these instead of 15 days.
what do you think please?

Kind regards,
Sorry if i barge in i strongly suggest you don't ask for extension for your PPR after request from AVO. AVO had already have a BFD to attend to your file extending it might not be good for u. If you re allowed to leave UK with d said passport, once you get to Lagos you can get your passport renewed in a day and please due to situation on ground avoid the change of ur wife's name for now. Its a lot of stress to get the name changed in Abuja, the pressure for time will be too much for you except u made arrangement to land in Abuja from d UK and ready to spend some cash.
Once u sort d Intl PP within 3days of landing in Nigeria proceed to send ur documents to Accra. Its doable just plan ahead and make sure you have contacts on ground b4 leaving the UK.
Goodluck

Nice advise!

thanks Kayd, I was about giving this same advise to anyi nature, please plan well, since your PP would giving to you at airport, you can renew your pp and send it to AVO within the stipulated time, it just call you to very articulate with your plans.

As Your Soul Prospers

I read a daily devotional this morning which I believe would serve as a paradigm shift in our mentality (as we make our relocation plans)

Settle this in your mind....You can prosper anywhere in the world (whether the place is the wealthiest or the poorest country); again, I say you can prosper any where.

I know that people have many tales to tell about their settling down in Canada but you don't have to experience a bad tale (but you must make conscious effort to play your part).

We all know the story of Joseph as he was led into captivity from his own brothers and finally into the prison in Egypt.

Later, Joseph was put in prison. There's really not much opportunity for advancement in prison, is there? But God gave him insight that no other man in Egypt had. That insight landed him a position on Pharaoh's staff. Not as a slave but as the most honored man in the entire country next to Pharaoh himself.

He rode along in a chariot and people literally bowed down before him. During a worldwide famine, Joseph was in charge of all the food. Now that's prosperity!

How did God accomplish all that? By prospering Joseph's soul. No matter how dismal his situation became, no matter how impossible his problems, God was able to reveal the spiritual secrets that would open the door of success for him.

That's what makes God's method of prospering so exciting. It works anywhere and everywhere. It will work in the poorest countries on the face of this earth just like it worked in Egypt. And you can be sure that it will work for you too!

Let's keep improving ourselves, up-scalling our skills, learning new business skills, acquiring certifications, etc.

Be positive that you will prosper when you eventually relocate to Canada even if things seem to be tough at the initial stage (just as it was for Joseph in Egypt). Be positive that you will prosper exceedingly.

I pray that God will prosper our souls as we relocate to Canada and reveal to us the spiritual secrets that would open the door of success for us all.
