If you are not under some sort of pressure to do a name change, then just complete your processing with AVO the way you started it. Reduce the amount of questions that could be asked on your case file. My opinion right there. All the best.

Thanks, it may be best to keep things simple.

Wow, Congrats. God is indeed faithful. I pray for everyone of us waiting to move to next stage that God will arise on our behalf and bring forth our testimonie in Jesus name.

My heartfelt wishes to all applicants with one update or the other.....
Wishing expectant applicants the best of positive news....
Just a short note to our teeming applicants in joyous and expectant mood of news from Accra......
IF WE NEED TO UPDATE OUR STATUS ON THE SS AND YOU CAN'T SEEM TO FIND THE LINK TO UPDATE IT,PLEASE KINDLY GET THE ATTENTION OF ONE OF THE ADMIN OF THE SS TO HELP YOU OUT RATHER THAN DUPLICATING ENTRIES ON THE SS.
IT TAKES A LOT OF EFFORTS FROM THE ADMIN TO TO BE MANUALLY SORTING OUT DUPLICATED ENTRIES ON THE SS.
ALSO,SOME OF US TENDS NOT TO CHECK THE SS VERY WELL TO BE SURE OUR DETAILS ARE THERE...THEREBY DUPLICATING ENTRIES WITH THE ASSUMPTION THEIR DETAILS IS NOT THERE.
"doombuggy" APPLICANT SHOULD PLEASE RESTRAIN FROM DUPLICATING ENTRIES ON THE SS AS THE ADMINS HAVE REPEATEDLY DELETE THE APPLICANT'S NAME FROM THE SS FOR MORE THAN 25 TIMES.
MY APOLOGIES IF MY POST SUGGEST SHOUTING.
LET US JOINTLY MAKE THE MANAGEMENT OF THE SS EASIER FOR THE ADMINS.

CHEERS.

Preparing for Life in Canada.

This morning, I just want to drop a few lines.

While we wait for our PERs, MRs, PPRs, COPRs & PRVs, we need to engage ourselves in acquiring some international certifications that would assist us in settling down faster while we land in Canada.

Some forumites have posted so many sites that we can visit for recognized international certifications in Canada. We need to work to get for ourselves with one or two of these before leaving Nigeria.
It is easier to write them here before leaving, one you land, you are so crowded with many things wanting your attention and you know job search is one of them amongst other key areas of your life.

Personally, I am working towards acquiring CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) and PMP (Project Management Professional).
Check their sites on http://www.iiba.org/ and http://www.pmi.org/

Nigerian certifications might not be appreciated over there, so the more reason to acquire some internationally recognized certifications (there are plenty of them depending on your field of endeavor).

And above all, Prayer is very key. Pray all the way and Pray through.

All the best to all of us.

Information Needed

My wife is the principal applicant and she has B.Sc. in Accounting, MBA and ACA.

Can anyone recommend accounting-based Canadian certification that she can acquire while she is here and before arriving in Canada (by the grace & mercy of God)?

I will appreciate if I can get a list of those and check them up for her. While we wait for our COPRs & PRVs, she can get herself busy to write the exam here (if possible).

I am aware that one may not be able to write some Canadian certification exams outside Canada but at least one can start studying & preparing from here before landing.

Thank you.

Halleluyah! congratulations Zoze!

I'm speechless with praise to God.

Our visas and COPR landed today.

Journey started in 2011 with a rejection then NOC 3131 disappeared from the occupation list for good. This year, something similar 0311 came up and we applied. 8 months later, we are rolling in joy and trepidation for the life ahead.

My thoughts are with all those waiting, it shall surely come to pass.

Men, this visa fine no be small............ :D :D :D

Dear Flosure,

It seems we have the same views, please PM me, lets share more ideas. If she want to practice as certified accountant, she would be have to register to the accounting professional body of the province you intend to settle into, please note that there some slight variation in the registration requirements, but there some forms that ICAN would have to filled and authenticate her membership that would earn her some credibility in some province for instance this link would assist if you want to settle into Onatario http://www.cpaontario.ca/Admissions/InternationallyTrainedAccountants/MemberAcctgBodyOutsideCanada/1010page13560.aspx

Essentially, knowing the certification and registering for membership ahead of relocation would go a long way easing settling down.

Regards,
