when did you applied for GCMS and how long it took to get the reply ?
I applied 0n 4th June .....

I applied for GCMS directly via CIC yesterday....usually they take 1 month....took 5 CAD

you dont need to pay $5.... if you apply under the option of privacy act, that's free.

I applied for both "access to..." and " privacy act"...

I would suggest u to send a GCMS report request....U may see some changes (I really wish)...

I cant find any difference so far...Since they have not issued MR to the "FINAL REVIEW" applicants....


People from the later dated (11th Sep/ 4Jul) applicants has got "FINAL REVIEW" reply, then how come u are on the "INITIAL REVIEW"...Cant understand anything..

Files in the Federal Skilled Worker are processed in order of receipt, based on the date on which the complete application and fee payment were received in our office. Once the file has been reviewed, we will contact the applicant directly to advise the result of the initial review and/or any next steps in the processing of the application, such as whether an interview will be required. If your address or contact information changes during processing, you must inform this office in writing.

Processing times to finalization may vary depending on the number of new applications received, annual quota and the individual complexity of each application. "

Isnt initial review done in CIC and sent to designated visa office?? Or is it visa offices do an initial and final review. Really confused!!

CIC review and the VO review is different...


CIC check the first review for ur eligibility...

When ur file has transferred to Local Visa office, they also start an initial review (check whether they require any additional docs or not), verify the background checks.......Then left it for final review.

And on final review they recheck backgrounds and verify the security checks...and then Medical request...

It can be checked via Tomsware vaia's GCMS report also....

Good luck vai....Need a storm of Medical from Singapore....

With the advice and help of Ashif I had send CSE to SGVO last month and I got reply yesterday.....


"Your file is in the queue to be reviewed by an officer. Once a decision is made, we will contact you for the next step of processing.

We hope this information will be of assistance. "

What a diplomatic answer!!!!!!!

Just now i got reply from SGVO!! Unfortunately its the same message they copy n paste for everyone. They r saying my application is in a queue awaiting initial review. I dont understand what this means, how long for my file to be awaiting for final review and so on. Guys if anyone has experienced the same or know what this means please reply. Thanks in advance.

First FSW 2014 Singapore applicant got PER yesterday ....

"Finally!!! I have received my PER!! At last, CIC is active, once again!" ;D <--------------------------- No no, not joking again. Real now!






NOC: 2174
App reached: May 5, 2014
CC charged: May 29, 2014
PER: June 11, 2014

It is interesting to note that the same UCI has been assigned to my case, as the one I had in my student visa document more than 12 years ago.

The PER mail was sent after lunch, in Sydney local time. Hi Admins. My update link is not working. It shows all blank. Kindly add the PER information for my username: mcgyver

Congratulation to mcgyver. PER within 1 month & 6 days !!! Really impressive. We wish these speed can passes to our beloved SGVO to gear up at some extent. :-X
