I just got a reply from CIO two hours ago for answering my previous enquiry about the application status (sent on 20th Aug). It says:

Dear Sir/Madam:

Re: UCI# 909*****

Your application # is E000******. Your file is currently awaiting processing. Notification will be sent in due course.

And I just checked it online with the UCI#, the ECAS status is showing "In Process" with only one sentence of "We received your application for permanent residence on June 25, 2013."

Does that mean my PER is on the way? I still do not know if my dd has been charged or not. Please help to confirm!

When file number has already been allotted then it means PER..!! Your application is in process n they will forward the same to your local VO.

I too agree with AARDEE becasue who know whats going to happen .. Also there is no big rush of applications in all NOC's comparing with the intial 4-5 weeks when CIC started accepting applications (from 05-May).I just did a quick check(time pass ) to see the application trend for NOC 2147 and splitted the dates into rush period( from 08-May when first application for NOC 2147 received till 24-June when the last encashment happend) and non-rush period(from 24-June to till date).

So for ,
Rush period total 33 days excluding weekends and public holidays - Total 90 applications in the forum
Non Rush period total 60 days excluding weekends and public holidays - Total 44 applications in the forum ( more people may come and add to the forum later but just look at the current count only)

What I mean to say is that the application received count has dropped down to more than 73% comparing with the intial 4-5 weeks when the FSW 2013 opened.

So dont waste time, think positive and apply ASAP.. This message is to all(except the applicant's who's NOC cap already reached) who is thinking whether to apply this year or not.. Because its just matter of the courier charge and who know that the decision you are going to take now is going to change your complete life or not 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

PAFSO President Tim Edwards said in a statement Monday that the government's appeal has brought the parties “no closer to a settlement,” and is simply wasting more time. According to a spokesperson for the Federal Court of Appeal, the appeal process could take anywhere from weeks months to unfold, depending on how long both parties take to submit their files.

Following the government's filing of affidavits Monday, the union will have 30 days to file any supporting affidavits and documentary exhibits. After that, both parties can request a cross examination within 20 days if they wish. Following the completion of the optional cross examination, the government will have 20 days to file their memorandum and then within another 20 days, the union will file theirs.

This is our bad....I think Mr.Alexander stratching this issue till winter session...So that by law government can force PAFSO to work...

DD charged 12th September.
Noc 2147.
App received: 26th June 2013.

I would like to give this wounderful opportunity to our great admins to kindly please update my status in the spreadsheet.

I am out of my world. Can't express my happiness here in this forum and would like to congratulate everyone who received PER, AOR, Medicals and RPRF. And All the Best to our remaining friends who are awaiting their PER's.

2174 Applicant - Application Received 3rd June 2013 in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Sent email to CIC on 27th August. Most likely will receive email next Tuesday (24th September) on application status.

Considering updates from forum members there is a high chance the application will be sent back due to CAP being full. I hope this is not the case...

However, please see other options below...

1. Apply in 2014 for FSWP

2. Fly over and stay in Canada for 6 months - As a British Citizen I do not require a visa to travel
Look for a job in 6 months with possibility of attaining an LMO / Work permit

OR

As a qualified Yoga Instructor - Is it possible to go to Canada for 6 months and become self-employed Yoga Instructor?


3. Apply as a student and study for 1 year Masters / Attain 1 year work permit. Then apply for Canadian Experience Class and try get PR.

Please provide you suggestions and comments to the above options as I REALLY want to move to Canada.

Option 1: Waiting period 7-8 months, 2174 may or may not be in the NOC list OR may be no FSW 2014(Risk: Losing your time and dream)
Option 2: No waiting period, network & find an offer & apply for PR(Risk: Leaving your current job and trying find one in CAN...means expensive option)
Option 3: No waiting period, Lengthy but assured way to get a PR...and citizenship(Risk: Gaining a Canadian education credentials at the cost of British experience and pay)

As you are a British citizen, I would suggest you to go for option 2 and 3 at the same time. Most probably you will end up getting PR sooner or later either way.

Congrats Sam439 on your per! Your DD was encashed on Sept 12 but being a 2147 June 28th applicant my CC should have been charged by now but my CC has not been charged yet Does this mean it's all over for me?

The option number 3 seems to be the best. Anyway I consider studying in Canada after eventual lucky arrival with PR. I think getting canadian education is the best way leading to success. I believe Master degree is a good option as nay take 15-18 months to complete. Or MEng - even 9. U can study and search for employment opportunities. However costs may be discouraging. But u can find an option to study for 6-8k per semester.
Not everyone wants Canada due to economical reasons. Sometimes its just following our dreams.
