Also can anyone please answer the first part of my question regarding which Dependent type I need to choose for my wife (Type B or C)
It also says "We currently do not accept online payments for skilled workers."

under "Application Fees" on the guide (can't post link; can someone tell me how to do that?)

These are two contradictory info...Still not sure which one to accept. Let me know if you find out. :)

I called the CIC just now and received my UCI.

A UCI is a mere acknowledgement that your application has been received and opened and it is under process. It does not mean that it has been accepted , rejected or will fall in the cap.

In my view UCI means only acknowledgement that your application has been received and gone through completness check only after that they place our file in long queue for processing under the applicable Ministerial Instructions.

Last year my file was returned back due to global cap, but UCI was mentioned on my application as it was opened for completness check on second day after receipt and was placed in the queue for processing under the applicable Ministerial Instructions. But unfortunately, after 4-5 days global cap was reached and my file returned back due to cap reach.

timeline was:

app sent : 27apr2012
app received : 01may2012
opened for completeness check: 03may2012
cap reached on : 08may2012
letter date was : 22may2012
app received by me: 25Aug2012

SO r u saying after the very first completeness check they put the UCI ?

If so, what if the app fails at that very first stage, will they also issue an UCI for that app too while returning?

Pcc is valid for one year. AOR is an acknowledgement letter from ur VIsa office that they receive ur file and star processing.

One of the guy asked for pcc within very short time. Having pcc takes 20 days to 60 days( if u need from fbi and in USA) so as you got PEr better to start it now for u and ur dependance.

@etha4u

I feel old....gosh is there a way to reply particularly to you? I dont seem to be able to reply to the senders..

Manish, I called on the 001-613 944 4000. Follow the IVR to the "Permanent Resident" option. U will be asked to enter your UCI, but just listen to message and after three times it will tranfer you to a an agent. Request the agent for a client Id. Howevr, i gues it is a bit early for you to call . they are still on 30 May. June hasnt started yet. You shud call when u see ppl near to your application date getting charged.
Best of Luck

Dear Members,

Especially New Delhi Visa Office,

Please update if any communication anyone has received.
As looking on spreadsheet, one of our member @welcomecanada (applied on May 13th, 2013) from NDVO has received AOR from NDVO, but no one else reported the same.

Please update accordingly if any of us receive the acknowledgement from New Delhi Visa office

Agreed , but where are these 174 members , i think not a single case is updating there status.

I dont want to call i am just waiting to here from seniors as what the exact process for cap

In 2012 my application was return for B'certy of spouse and in that they have inserted letter mentioning missing DOcs... But not having any UCI.... SO till last year CIC will issue UCI, only for applications who undergone for processing....

This year it is possible that They issue UCI after docs check and in completness check they can check for Forms being filled properly or not....After this they might check for MI....And charge CC/DD..... So at completeness check they can reject file which having UCI mentioned( cc/dd not charged) having status IN Process initially and after rejection it would be Decision MAde....

So here we need to ask candidate whose file been reject and having UCI for current status...It will give more clarity to our understanding.

CIC must have forgotten about updating ECAS n so has VO sending the AOR...

Nice observation!

See, they will take 300 which are completed or 300 PER , then they will update site and declare no more file for xxxxxxx occupation.

If any files are rejected by local vo then what will happen, either they will process who are through with entire process , it could be 300 , 290 or any number based on rejection at later stage.

They know the rejection could be maximum 10% which will not affect to third demand , as we know 300 applicant doesnt make huge difference for canada economy in particular occupation!!! So it doesn't matter if they are getting 250 or 200 applicant!!

It's huge country , and current cap 300 is too small so it reduce again by 20 or 30 ,doesn't bother to cic
