I don't know..why is everybody calling up CIC...what will you get if you come to know your UCI number?
Status is updated only after they send you an email. There could be a possibility that your file might get returned, even if you have UCI allotted..

I think all of us should wait and stop calling them unnecessarily, as it will definitely delay the overall processing time for everyone..
So, my suggestion is to just sit tight and wait calmly..without disturbing the ladies & gentlemen at CIC!

If someone's payment mode is DD then it is recommended to call cic and get UCI number but should call cic only when he/she sees someone else who's application was received one day before him/her getting his/her cc charged.
Then he/she can check his/her status on ECAS, if the status shows 'In Process" then it is a good sign which signals that his/her PER is on the way.

Hi,
I am new to this forum and want a bit of urgent help from senior members. I have all my paperwork ready to be filed with CIC (including WES, IELTS and the works). At the last stage of submission I am stuck on "proof of funds" bit. I do NOT have a joint account with my spouse. My spouse has enough funds in liquid income funds which have recently been liquidated to show funds in spouse's bank account. Should I submit spouse's bank account statement or should I borrow money from spouse into my account and then submit my bank statement? Or is there a third alternative? Many thanks for helping out!

Yes, it will be the same. Wait for a week and check on ECAS. ECAS is updated once a week.

In my view you can transfer money from your spouse's account to your account and get ending balance certificate from the bank instead of bank statement.

Seniors' input should also be taken.
All the best!!

thank you for your reply. If i am ok with application , dont you think that i should get PER in coming week..as timeline being appeared on google sheet. around 70 days.. also it means if my DD was encashed...My UCI would have been activated till now. just making furious assumptions myself

I second you. That will be fine. But ensure the money stays in your account, in case CIC asks for POF again before PR is issued. Better to also convert wife's account as a joint account and get ready for second POF request from CIC.

Go with your spouse's account. Its not necessary to making account joint if you are showing your wife aa dependent in your application.

freek4iphone - can you please explain what is regulated and unregulated....and how does it impact our application?

thanks

I don't know all the regulated fields, but an example is Nursing (and healthcare related fields) are regulated at provincial level. And i know that Software Development is not regulated. You don't need a license in addition to your degree.

Never thought I'd find myself looking forward to a Monday morning - PERs' for apps received on the 17th of May, and paid for via DD please. A request can't be any simpler yea?
