Hi Guys,,, Need urgent help.. Transaction cancelled on Credit Card

My file was received on May 13th. I am from India and have given the credit card details of SBI while submitting my file and today I got the message that an international transaction of 65k was not completed. When I contacted SBI help desk, they said there are some new RBI guidelines that, even if international transactions were initially active on ur account, you still need to reactivate them. I surfed and found as per new guidelines from RBI

"The Reserve Bank said that a monetary limit of USD 500 be imposed by issuing bank on all global cards which has not been used in the past.

“All the active magstripe international cards issued by banks should have threshold limit for international usage. The threshold should be determined by the banks based on the risk profile of the customer and accepted by the customer by June 30,”"

I have called SBI guys and they say it will take at least a day or two to set ur international transaction limit. I am too much worried now..

So, now what options I have? What can I do? Is there any way to contact CIO or some other way around?

Seniors, I need ur suggestions?

In my opinion, here is what you should do. First, since SBI is a govt. bank so its highly unlikely that they will process your request faster, but still call the customer care and push them to increase the limit ASAP.

2nd what you can do is, tell them that you will deposit the entire amount (55k or whtever amount will be charged) upfront and in advance for the smooth processing of transaction, so that would leave no corner for default on your outstanding.

Since, Sat. the banks are working (till 1 pm i think) try this thing out and it might help. Deposit the amount (if the customer care says so) first thing in the morning against your credit card.
(also when you call customer care straight away ask him/her that you want to talk to their manager).

Since you have window till Monday, there might still be hope. Cheers and i wish you luck.

Hi Mamobee, you NOC isn't 'Hot" but is pretty pretty warm, with alot of applicants submitting already. Go ahead and submit your file though....nothing to lose but the courier fee, it you don't submit you may also wonder...."What if...."

Islandbabe,

It seems that NOC 0211 is moving from originally projected Hot to warm. I only heard 2 persons receiving PER in this forum, Does it mean they are not processing this NOC as others or applicants are not reporting updates :(. Hmmmmm!
