Still haven't received my package..as per CiC it was returned on 21-June

1question out of curiosity-

Although spouse is not principle applicant, do we need to show
Job responsibility letter of spouse as well?

Harry, I believe you are in New Delhi. It would take not less than 20 days. The outer limit would be 30 days. After that start worrying.... 8)

Don't scare yourselves. I'm not indian but you say not having birth certificates is common in India, So clearly It's ok, you are not the first indian applicants. And in lesmor's case maybe the reason of rejection was job experience.
Idoit's case was bad luck, it can happen to anyone.
But in pepto's case, I think both times ,his mistake. when you claim somebody is your relative surely you have to prove he is your relative! even if it is not mentioned in the checklist. It is common sense.
The second time if it is mentioned the original IELTS score( at that time it might not) you have to send the original one. That is not the officer's fault! ( Sorry bro)
Please relax. Most of us have better chance than Idiot.

Still this officer did not see or ignored it. I admitted already that first time it was ignorance that played part. Second time it was the CIO officers ignorance that played part.

I can only add that there are different kind of CIO officers. Some use more common sense while others just go by the word of the law or regulations that they have to follow.

I would wish I don`t get the later one this time.

Next worry........................when the file would be transferred to V.O.....any idea....coz I'm viewing 2011 spreadsheet, there time varied between PER to AOR from VO (ranging from as low as 5 days to as high as 40 days)....

In that case, yes in the second time that was unfair. Although I was thinking( at least until now) that if they kept the original IELTS in previous applications we can send the copy otherwise for example if they returned the package to us( clearly they don't have a record of our documents)we have to submit the original IELTS again. But I agree with you it depends on the officer. some of them are so strict.

My app was received at the same time as idoit's, so after I heard about his rejection, I asked my representative to check the mailbox for a returned package. She did so and found an envelope with CIC's address on it.... It was a notification about her own PR card renewal ;D She almost had a heart attack

Guys, I'm very glad to announce that I've just received the e-mail with the PER and my UCI number, which means that another stage is completed!
Now I'm gonna keep waiting to hear more good news from everybody else here!

Words cannot express amount of happiness overwhelming me ... since I just received PER with UCI end other data!!! ;D
I must admit, that was fast, I expected it in best scenario tomorrow or next week.
Anyway, I immediately went to my refrigerator and there was nothing to drink I wasn't prepared, but it will be nice weekend

Both are equally fatal. Birth Certificate is fatal when it comes to document completeness, as they have specifically requested for a Birth Certificate & not anything [though they have mentioned that they may consider request if they THINK is genuine, so I guess they did not considered Affidavit]. As far duties are concerned, I guess they are about 50% to what 2174 actually do. Reports, Assistance, Research parts are missing so they may have considered that factor too. Your total experience? You are lucky that they haven't rejected you on Visa Office. Buffalo is no longer operational. CPP-O handles everything now.

CIO received a lot of 2174 applications on May 10th and probably VO had variety of applications available to pick from. This is my guess.

Hi Everyone,

Just read that the Birth Certificates are absolute necessary.... is it true? I have included an notarized affidavit in place of the Birth Certificates for myself and my wife as we never had them.
Please share your comments...

as a rule a birth certificate as a mandatory document. The guide says that they might consider other documents instead of this one as long as the reasoning is genuine and possible. I have just read that it's not that common to have a birth certificate in India. I do find it somewhat strange, but... If that's the case, then maybe (and only maybe) they may consider the application without the birth certificate. But I would call CIC and ask.

what for? if you are the principal applicant, then YOU are claiming points for your experience. Your spouse has nothing to do with this. You do not even have a space for your spouse's NOC's and duties description in the application.

Indian applicants with DD expiring in 3 months pls share what is your plan in case your DD is not encased by expiry date. God forbid
