Just a side story... :D

My Mom went to Canada as a seamstress in 1985. I told her about the system of migration today. She was laughing at all of our problems when I told her the process today is quiet stringent and very strict. You know why? During the 80's, she said the government of Canada was practically begging foreigners to migrate there :) and look at us now, were almost putting all our eggs in one basket meaning were putting all of our time, effort, money, future, dreams and hopes to Canada hehe ;D.

So what's with no 1 ? I see nothing alarming
as for no 2, I am not so sure about that ::)

BTW, I think we are starting to get a bit panicky, it's so good that we already sent the packages!
Keep praying & GOOD LUCK :)

In problem 1, I notarized copy of marriage certificate but did not notarize translation....

Hi gnxredstar, could you contact your consultant on the older generic form. What do they say?

Why bother? Already paid them to do their job on making sure that I will not have problems in my application. I wont waste my time on their talk shit again. they swore all my forms are up to date before we sent our papers.

If he stamped and wrote, then that shouldn't have to be an issue. Rest is all depend on the Visa Officer / Document completeness checker on how to go about it.

Yes at the end of the translation, he wrote that " I certify its a true/correct translation" then signed stamped with date and all his contact details (its on his official letter pad)

lol. I actually had to re-read the statement in order to confirm what I read, and corrected on spouse's forms. My mothers name stayed what it used to have before marriage [good thinking on my father's part ;)] and I have done the samething for my wife. I kept her surname instead of changing to mine. I knew these would be issues in the future...

It's almost similar to mine. It shouldn't have to be an issue. They do have interpreters which can testify / verify the contents of the document. They usually do not rely 100% of what we send unless from very well known or reputable countries [in short, except 3rd world countries]. If they want, they can use their own resources to verify it.

I guess the only purpose of this is to do background checks about any criminal activity that a change of name would mask?

Not sure how will it be proven that your mother had a different family name at birth? Didn't have to send any documents related to that so I wouldn't think that this should be an issue.

For employment contract, should we send;

a. original copies
b. certified true copies
c. notarized copies
d. photocopies which are neither notarized nor certified as true copies will do?

I am puzzled on this. My agent allowed me to submit only photocopies / xerox copies of my employment contract. She also did not ask me to submit pay stubs. However, I submitted original copy of certificate of employment.

Please help me think of this. Thanks

Same with my mom! What kind of a crappy rule is for a girl to change her lastname!!! :o

The document check list clearly indicates "copies" which means, "photocopies which are neither notarized nor certified as true copies"

Please also note the top of the check list which clearly states:

"Do not submit originals unless otherwise stated as documents submitted will not be returned"
