May be one of the reasons why they keep doing it, is collecting as much information as possible about applicants around the world, their identities, all their detailed background information, work and military service history, credit cards information, signature samples and so on.

You never know how they may use it. 8)

I think they will announce the update this friday because they have finished chargin the may 10th application...
Processing of 10th May applications is still in progress. If u can see in tacker sheet, out of 22 apps that were received on 10th May only 4 have got their CC/DD charged. So 10th May applications will continue to next week also.

Is 0211 a hot NOC ? I don't think so !
I wish you right. By hot I mean those caps that are filled already.
Our spreadsheet data represent only small fraction of all applicants around the world. Less than 5% and probably it is filled already.

This is really frustrating.. CIC has not updated the CAP count since almost 11 days!!!
In fact, CIC has updated the CAP only twice till date. Although they supposed to update it once per week,
they are not doing so:(

I have posted it already but posting it again for ur info.
In 2011, CIC updated cap on (opened on 1st July 2011):
21-Jul-2011
27-Jul-2011
29-Jul-2011

2-Aug-2011
3-Aug-2011
4-Aug-2011

8-Aug-2011
9-Aug-2011
10-Aug-2011

and so on.....

Here we can see that cap update happened more than once in a week. We may hear more than one update in a week although that has not happened for 2013 program.

8. CIC will spend canadian taxpayers money and a lot of processing time for returned application to mail these thousands and thousands of late applications back.
We should not forget to apply CIC's money loss against the profits at WES, ICAS and 2 other certification authorities - they all get $200-$400 per degree certified. And UPS/Fedex/DHL Canada also get at least $50 for each of thousands of packages being sent back to the world.
For 10k applicants, that's maybe 2-4 million CAD for certificators and over half a million for couriers.

Hey, WES is even charging a 13% tax! In what world a tax is charged for services done for clients abroad, which is literally an export? So those 13% is nice and clean, direct money inflow to CA govt.

Anyway, I'm sure it all works out $ positive for Canada, otherwise it'd stop shooting itself in the foot.

I think CIC is playing smart here. they are keeping the window/hopes open for many applicants of the hotter NOCs. IMHO....i really think that while deciding for those NOCs they are excersing some discretion where points alone would not be the criteria, meaning they would be scrutinizing the applications strictly even though it reaches the passing marks, simply because they have a lot of applications in those NOCs.

this was mentioned on the forum some time back and i quite agree with that they wont exhaust 300 seats for NOCs like 1112 or 0211 or 2174 in a couple of weeks. i think new delhi VO alone can fill up 1112 or 2174 in a couple of days!
Agree. It's quite nonsensical to have this whole program as just a contest of speed, or who submits their application first. In the interest of canada and it's citizens, they have to ensure that the people they're letting in will contribute.

CIC did state that the program is accepting applications for 1 whole year, so while initially, or at this very early stage, it might seem that things are being done FIFO, it's likely that there's more scrutiny being done to the applications. I've read somewhere that for FSW 2013, cic is heavily filtering and checking applications, much more strictly than the previous fsw programs.

Assuming that within a months time, there are 600 applicants for a particular code, say 2174. Let's say the first two weeks were submission from applicants who had 67-70 pts and the later half of the month were 300 submissions from applicants who had 78 and above points. If I were CIC, i wouldn't possibly want to close the door for those 300 "higher qualification" applicants just because there were 300 very quick applicants who submitted their forms early. This is just an example ok? hope the early birds don't get offended, i'm sure a lot of the early birds are highly qualified folks :)

I don't think CIC is giving false hope to the june or july submitters, I strongly believe that the door is wide open - CIC, has the power to take in more qualified applicants over the lesser qualified.

Lastly, I'd suggest for some here to stop bashing the CIC people. Specially if they have your details in the spreadsheet. From there they could easily infer your identity. You don't think CIC people have seen this thread? This is currently the most popular thread for people applying for the fsw 2013 program. Even mr.jason kenney himself asked before in a tweet about the most popular forums on cic's immigration program. Who knows, the guy replying you here in this thread might actually be a CIC official ;D 8)

CIC stopped their program for long in order to reduce backlog. But after reopen the program, what we are observing- its delaying more than the past. Moreover, they are not updating the CAP regularly whereas they did it more frequently in 2011. So, what can we think about their performance and our fate?

Mr. "Fake CC Charge" is back again with wishful thinking and the same BS about point based prioritization again. There is no such thing. Period.

wow. are you from CIC? maybe an immigration expert? it's people like you who think a canadian visa is their God-given right, given they submit early enough. As with a lot of other "speculators" here, you mr oszi, know jack$hit about what's really going on inside the CIC. :)
