My two cents here --

JIGS - so in nutshell, after your CC is charged, you will receive PER (5-10 days). This means your file is travelled to your VO. Now, your VO will check your file and if they feel like, they can perform background checks as well (very small %age of files goes for background check). Once VO is happy with your file, they will ask for medicals. Once medical reports are received and if they are happy with your health status, they will ask for your passport for maple leaf stamp.

The maple leaf is for one year only --- you need to land in Canada within six months from the date of your medicals (as medical report is valid only for six months); else you may have to redo the medicals..

US PCC process is already explained in some other post. I can tell about UK if you like :p

Hope that helps!

Hi islandbabe, Jigzzy, Jignesh, Nirmal, aditya or any other seniors,

What is our next step after receiving per? My DD is cashed so I am assuming that I will receive PER in week or so.

I have not applied for PCC yet, My lawyers told me that PCC is valid for 6 months only and I need PCC from both Indian consulate and FBI.
Should I apply for it now or wait a bit? Can someone also tell me processing time for PCC from US?

Appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Jigs

UCI or Unique Client Identifier is a pin-point number allotted to an entity by Canadian govt. to be identified on all visa matters henceforth. It is a set of 2 four numbers separated by a hyphen. The GCMS keeps track of all the applications made against an allotted UCI and will know when, how, how many times and all previous history of the all the applications against respective UCIs.
However, not all those who apply get a UCI; I mean, if CIC finds an application incomplete at a very basic requirement, they will simply close and return the application without entering anything in to the GCMS.

...and with that post I jump into the forum.
So what do people see when they log in to eCas with the UCI?

here is the link h t t p s : / / services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/authenticate.do?app=ecas

just curious, how long it takes to have that maple leaf on passport ;) while they asked for it ?

Like for BD, does someone need to send the passport to Singapore cause they are the VU? and then they will return it to BD? how?
and how many days? then that person have to enter canada before medical expires?!??

if medical expires then if someone redo it, do they need to send again? I new medical is valid for 1 year.

My SMS just informed me that I had got a payment of 1100 in local currency. Then I phoned the credit card hotline and they told me this payment was in Canada. Thus, I temporarily don't know how much in US dollar although I paid via Visa.

Dear Floxzy I definitely would never advise anyone to do that as can be seen from my earlier posts, This applicant has applied already, so I am urging them not to worry ....good things can still happen, its not absolute.

She just may have been lucky. Wont advise anyone to do such. Its very unfair.

Congrats Sarak!!!! Your entry was haunting me...I was worried that since we haven't seen you in a while we would know if you were charged. Thanks for sharing and all the best on your journey. Please let us know when you get your PER.
