No. If you have a relative that is Canadian Citizen / PR, than it's $5. But if you don't have someone, than you have to make a request via 3rd party website, and they take about $35 ~ $45.

good job rawda, but this was old FSWP, i mean points were calculated later in this FSWP. now we have ECA which upto some extent verify the educational credentials, no points for spouse qualification and points are calculated at CIO sydney, still chances of rejection in LVO.

please throw some light

LVO shall again assess our points for age, education, knowledge of Canada’s official languages, experience and adaptability.

If we get less than 67 points then our Application may be refused.

i dont think so if CIO calculates your points and then again LVO start calculating, there might be no difference between these two calculations. i mean to say there will be rare applicants in this case.

VO will assess our points again, it happened with our own FSW 2013 member s_g_t from CPP-O Visa Office

s_g_t said:
Hello all,

Has anyone else here received this email from their VO? (CPP-Ottawa)?

**************************************************************************************************************************
DEAR xxxxx:

I have now completed the assessment of your application for a permanent resident visa as a member of the federal skilled worker class. I have determined that you do not meet the requirements for immigration to Canada.

Subsection 12(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act states that a foreign national may be selected as a member of the economic class on the basis of their ability to become economically established in Canada. Subsection 75(1) of the regulations prescribes the federal skilled worker class as a class of persons who are skilled workers and who may become permanent residents on the basis of their ability to become economically established in Canada.

Pursuant to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations, 2002, skilled worker applicants are assessed on the basis of the criteria set out in subsection 76(1). The assessment of these criteria determines whether a skilled worker will be able to become economically established in Canada. The criteria are age, education, knowledge of Canada's official languages, experience, arranged employment and adaptability.

Your application was assessed based on the occupation in which you requested assessment: Computer Engineers (NOC 2147). The table below sets out the points assessed:

Points assessed
Maximum

Age
5
12

Education
23
25

Experience
0
15

Arranged employment
0
10

Official language proficiency
27
28

Adaptability
0
5

TOTAL
55
95

You have not obtained the minimum number of points, currently 67, required for a permanent resident visa. The work reference letters you have submitted to support your experience as a Computer Engineer are either not descriptive enough as in the case of XXX or do not demonstrate that you have experience under this NOC as is the case of XXX Staffing and XXXInc.

Before I make a final decision, you may submit additional information relating to this issue.

You have 60 days from the date of this letter to submit additional information to me. Please ensure that

you quote the application number indicated at the top of this letter on any information you submit.

You are responsible for any fees charged by professionals you may consult as a result of this opportunity to submit new information.

I look forward to receiving your additional information.

Thank you for the interest you have shown in Canada.

*************************************************************************************************************************

In short, the VO has rejected my letter of reference and given me zero points despite my 15 years of experience as a network engineer. I have 60 days to produce a more concise letter of reference, which I will be able to do. Without the points for the work experience, I'm at 55 points and disqualified. With the 15 points for the work experience, I'm at 70 points and qualified for the FSWP.

It seems that many applicants are having trouble with WES, but how about with letters of reference being rejected? The letter that I submitted was pretty good with a detailed job description and all the requested info such as start/end dates, 40 hour work week, etc. My experience in dealing with the HR departments of my previous employers has been extremely frustrating, with HR generating mundane letters without any job description. Fortunately, in the case of my current employer, where I've been for the past three years, I don't have to deal with HR.
