It seems that CIC may have made a mistake. This might be what is causing the delay in feedback fro them. They may be trying to find a reasonable solution.

Lets look at this from a different perspective. We are looking at the issue of delay with perspective of an applicant.
What kind of political scenario's and situations , updates at cic office can influence fswp ?

Does any one have any kind of update on the Current Political Scenario in Canada? Is there an election coming up? If so how does it influence the immigration intake? or if there is any change in the ruling? Or an update or review of the available vacancies so that the cap might be reviewed? the cap being reviewed for the good or for worse based on updated requirement figures. There does indeed seem to be some kind of Official standing that is preventing CIC from taking any action on the current applications. It does seem that none of the applications have been processed till date. Else some one would have posted about their cc being charged.

Can some one knowledgeable or aware of Canada's present political scenario please share their thoughts, analysis.

If that is the case then the some one whose application reached the very first would have reported of their Credit Card being charged. As We see none of such update from any of the earliest applicants . It can only mean That The applications have not even been opened yet.

Yeah man this is the 2nd time..first was that the Generic Form was updated only on the 4th May after the checklist and schedule 3 were updated and many people in earlier time zones submitted the old form (12-2012) including me..I had to recall the old package which was supposed to arrive on 7 May 2013 and sent a whole new package with the new generic form (4-2013) on 8 May which arrived next Mon 13 May. We had to call UPS in my country and Canada and beg them to stop the delivery as their call centre did not work on weekends, and we were so scared that the package would be received by CIC, and CIC would return our application because we submitted the old form..these days were so terrible..We could not even sleep or eat..And now I am so scared our application will not even make it within the cap..

Our first ever experience with Canada and unfortunately not a good one..totally disappointed.

We really cant be sure of that Aditya, there is also the possibility that CIC is doing a greater/ more thorough assessment at the CIO level so as to minimize processing times at the VO and thereby reducing the overall processing times as promised. ( Just a possible Scenario)

what could be their valid reason if that will be the case? it is almost a month from the opening of fswp and there is still no updates!

I would give it 6-8 weeks the least from the opening of the FSWP.

It's all a guessing game now. We just have to be patient and have faith!

i tried raising my concern with the call center for cic, they said that nova scotia can only be reached via e-mail, and they don't have any direct line to follow up the updates of their caps

At 4/25 I downloaded the version with the 'code' at the bottom of first page: "IMM 5612 (05-2012) E", size: 240KB
Looks like the same I downloaded at 4/30 too.

At 5/5 I downloaded the one that I'm using right now and that I think is still on website.

Hmm, well - I have just checked. looks like that the one currently at the website was made at 5/17, if document stats are not lying.

Anyway - there are 3 sizes for that doc: 240KB, then the one with 246KB appeared and then the latest with 244KB

What if I still used the version published before 5/17? dammed, i didn't double check it before I sent the package on 5/30! hope cic won't return the package to me due to this wrong form...

In 2011, the first charge came up around in 80 days. Why we are hoping this would come at after 15 ~ 25 days this time ? The fastest would be under 60 days. Average would be 55 ~ 75.

Only the cap has changed, and not the working environment for documents completeness i.e, Stage 1.

If there was any major issue with the forms they would of released a statement to the public after May 17th that the form was updated again and that applicants should use the updated forms.

I don't think changes were too big. At least I don't see any important difference.

hope so! feeling panic at anything that could influence my application... how come they changed the form even after May 4th?!
