Ma'am, as replied in the previous post - No. No 'external' valuations r required. For non-valuable goods [eg. Furnitures] they aren't perticular anyway...churchlady said:When placing a value on the B4 form for say for example, furniture...is there any requirement
on how those values are determined? Do I have to get professional appraisals?
Regrets... u have lost the opportunity. As u reEnter with your goods - play naive - the BSO might just let u go with less or no duties on some items.Mary2009 said:Hi Qorax,
I tried to find an answer for the following question, but I couldn't :
So, forgive me if you've already discussed this, I might have missed it...
* My first landing was on 09/2009 (stayed for 1 month, then later got the PR cards + SIN).
* I'm planning to return to Canada exactly after 2 years (9/2011).
In my first landing, I was not aware of the "Goods to follow" list...etc..
So... i did NOT fill any forms and/or stamped anything
Also... when I left (after saying or 1 month),
I did NOT give them a list of the possessions that I was removing from Canada.
(simply because this was a short trip, I wasn't having anything that I wanted o keep in Canada!)
My Question:
When I return to Canada after 2 years of absence (or little bit less like in 7/2011),
Can I give the officer the B4/B4a forms?
Or I already lost that chance?
Obviously... this time I will return permanently, and need to bring
my valuables, like jeweleries, clothes, some furniture pieces + 4 computers :-X
Thanks for your help
Mary
Returning residents r primarily "Citizens", or PRs who previously had "Residential Ties" in Canada [filed tax returns].Mary2009 said:hmm... that's bad!
But thanks for your answer of course
umm... my English is not so good...
Can you please have a quick look on this publication:
http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/pub/bsf5113-eng.html
...and tell me if I understood correctly?
Is this publication for you?
This publication will be helpful if you are:
* etc... ;
* etc... ;
* moving back to Canada to resume residence after an absence of at least one year, or after being a resident of another country for at least one year.
Now, the rest of the document is very confusing (for my English!)
It SEEMS to me that I'm still entitled to make goods o follow list...
But if you confirm other than this, then I will take YOUR word for it ;D
Thanks again for your time,
Mary
